Default Opinions of HAND tour so far?

Thats the first leg complete then, a great show to finish in Vegas. I was just wondering what everybody thinks of the tour so far?

I think its been pretty good. They've mixed it up quite a bit (not as much as some would like, but still, they have changed things around).

I think Jon singing in the crowd has worked.

The new BOG seems to have gone down well, although the TLFR stuff (especially IBTFY) doesnt!!

Nice to hear some new covers (Treat her right, Balls of fire) as well as some that havent been played for a while (Good Lovin, Gloria).

Jon has sounded the best he has for a few years, and i do think bobby and jeff have 'filled' out the sound (although Richie seems to be doing less backing vocals!!)

I'm interested to hear what everybody thinks, especially those who have been to shows, as i've only seen and heard bootlegs so far

I think starting from the Milwaukee show in the 2nd leg it became good. Too bad I went to the first gig of the 2nd leg. Let's see if they keep this momentum for the summer tour!

First, I have to say I don't think anyone gets what the shows REALLY sound like by listening to bootlegs. They always have some distortion. They also don't give you the feeling you get from being in the crowd and they don't let you get a feeling for what the band's actions/interactions are.

I went to four shows and was very pleased. Their enthusiasm is better than it's been in years. Jon sounds great. They've mixed up the set list more than before. For instance, I saw 11 of the 13 different songs on the US version of HAND during the two Tampa shows.

The TLFR stuff actually has gone over well, I think. I really enjoy the duet version of IBTFY. Jon being in the crowd works well with Always or Bed of Roses because it gives people a chance to shake his hand and it really thrills the fans. Watching people's expressions on the big screen is priceless.

My only disappointments have been that they tend to play Complicated more than I Want to Be Loved when IWTBL is the better song lyrically, musically, and has a better live delivery than Complicated; that Richie sang IBTFY both nights in Tampa. I would have expected one night to be the duet to balance out the set lists; and that they don't represent These Days and rarely play anything from Bounce. They ought to play more songs from the box set too to mix things up. Nobody's Hero would be perfect done as an intro or in place of the IBTFY duet. You Can Sleep While I Dream & Satellite are two others I'd love to hear live. They have such an incredible body of work that there ought to be real SURPRISE at every show. They need to keep us guessing.

Ditto what Becky said.

Bounce was the first tour I saw and I thought it was pretty good. Then again, I did not have anything to compare it to. This tour makes me think "Bounce, what?"

I like the variety of songs they've played, especially on the second leg of the tour. I managed to hear 10 of the songs off of HAND. I was really surprised at how well Bells of Freedom went over in concert. Hearing it live has changed my perseptive of the song. I heard Living in Sin and Wild is the Wind. If the band had played a TD song, I'm pretty sure my head might have exploded

If the band is going to do songs of off Bounce, I don't have a problem with it. I'd like it if they dropped Everyday and replaced it with another track - say the Distance. Oh, and more boxset songs even if they are intros to other songs.

I might be the only one, but if the band is playing I Won't Back Down, what is stopping them from playing Thief of Hearts?

That being said, bring on the summer dates!!

I swear I started to make the same suggestion! LOL I don't care about hearing Bounce or Everyday again. The Distance is the best song on Bounce.

I actually prefer some of the bootlegs compared to the OKC show I attended!

Nobody's Hero would be a great addition! It's not a terribly hard song to sing or play. And I think BJ can somehow re-interpret (and I don't mean TLFR style) some songs from 7800 Fahrenheit acoustically, I think it would work. How about Silent Night acoustic? This way all albums will be represented.

Becky and Miracle hit it right on. "Bounce, what?" totally. I can't say enough good things about that first Toronto show, it was like an explosion and it slammed my faith for the boys back in my body. Between Jon going into the crowd and doing a song or two in a lower register, it's given him more energy to get him through the night (pardon the pun). The setlists have improved dramatically and we're getting more rare songs. The balance between hits and songs only fanatics now is changing abit.

It's been a great tour, sales wise and band wise.

I second this too. I was at the first 3 nights in Toronto and must say I enjoyed them incredibly more than the first 3 US shows I was at in the Bounce tour.

I hope the guys have a nice rest before they go to Japan and come to Europe. I have the feeling the shows here are going to be really good.
