Default Ostend Review

Mark (b/f) and I get to Ostend around 7ish after driving throught the night. We saw an entrance that was marked "Backstage", thinking this was the fan club entrance we heads that way. There were security around the door and as Mark and I walked through no-one stopped us, but as we got nearer and nearer the stage, it evenutally sunk in that we were actually "BACKSTAG", lol. No-one even came near us, we could have probably just went and sat down, but thought better of it. We eventually found our way out and joined the fan club queue. We were no 71 and 72 in line which would HAVE meant being either front row or second row. Anyhows Mark decided to take the car to the hotel, while i waiting in the queue. It was pretty well organised by the 2 girls that were taking the names, but the promotor decided he wasnt letting us in first, oooh big mistake. But eventually we got moved round to the proper entrance. Those that know me, know Im pretty scared of thunder and lightening, well guess what we got for a full 45 mins, yip a bloody thunder storm like nothing Ive seen, well I was quacking in my boots. The fanclub q was to get into the venue at 2pm, by 1.30 there was still no sign of Mark, aaarrrrrghhhhh. the thing was HE had the tickets, arrrrrrggghhhh. They opened the doors at 2pm and I had to stand there watching everyone go in, well I wasnt a happy chappy. Mark eventually turns up at 3.30pm and I let rip (oops our first major fight). We eventully speaks to the guy on the door, explains what happened, the very very nice guy radioed down to the pit to see if there were any writstbands left, WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOO we made it by the skin of our teeth and saved Mark's backside from kicking, lol. Off we went wading through the! mud (which was up to the top of me boots), down to the pit and parked our arses. The first guy that came on was apparently the winner of the Belgian Pop Star., Man this guy was well cool, what a voice, he done a few cover songs, like Nickleback's How you remind me, a Nirvana song, he also done one of his own. The crowd gave him a great response. The second band (hell dont know what they were called) they were shite to put it mildly. Around 8.30ish the boys hit the stage, the crowd went wild. Jon appears in TIGHT LEATHERS (woooohoooo me was one very happpppppy bunny) and go straight into Bounce. The guys were in great form going from one hit to another. Jon says he was going to do a song that he hadnt done for about 6 -7 years and burst into I'll Die For You, and after he sang "then you would understand" the next thing we hear is "awww man, thats how to **** it up", he had forgotten the words, lol but carried on with a little help for his friends, the crowd, lol. Richie was in fine voice when he sang I'll be there for you. Half way though the gig, this guy comes out of nowhere and runs across the stage, behind Jon but in front of Richie with a security guy on his heels, Jon and Richie were having a laugh about the guy being Richie's cousin, and that he was probably backstage getting his arse kicked from the security guy. The it happened, the intro to In These Arms, well I was in tears again, and it was that little special coz at that moment, Mark just put his arms round me as well, aaaarrrrrggghhhhhh dam soppy. When they done Capt Cras! h one of the girls I had met up with (but eventually lost b coz of the cock up with Mark) had confetti with her and she was throwing that up in the air, it looked brill I must say. The usual happened during just older, with us going from side to side and then the guys joining in. So what an awesome time we had. They finished around 11ish so guys were in for a treat when they hit the UK.
