I've checked the london travel planner and it seems I'd have to take a few buses .

Also, would it be possible to get back to stanstead after the gig for an early flight?

Does anyone know the name of the station closest to the dome?
The best way to go from Stanstead to the Dome is either by train to Liverpool Street Station but then you will have to connect with the tube or take the National Express coach just from outside the arrivals terminal. The coach will leave you at Stratford, this takes approx 45 mins. They leave to and from the airport quite regularly. Have a look at the timetable in the National Express site. I have done it before, actually last year when I came from the Amsterdam gig and it wasn't bad at all!!!. From Stratford you can take the tube, Jubilee line directly to the Dome. It is only 3 stops, approx 10 mins. The tube station just outside the Dome is North Greenwich. Here is the tube map if you wish to see it: http://www.tfl.gov.uk/gettingaround/1108.aspx

But, someone posted somewhere that the Jubilee line will be suspended between North Greenwich and Stratford on that weekend. Not sure how certain this is.

Hope this helps.

Maybe this was me

If you use the journey planner ( you can find it here: http://www.tfl.gov.uk/modalpages/2625.aspx) for jubilee line on June 24 (for example from stratford to north greenwich), there is this message:

I4 JUBILEE LINE: On Sunday 24 June, suspended between Stratford and North Greenwich due to planned engineering works. Replacement buses operate between Canary Wharf and North Greenwich only. Please use alternative London Underground, National Rail and DLR services where possible.

I don't know about National Rail and DLR services (as you native English spoken people already know - I am not from UK ).
