If he wanted to I'm sure he could yes - just as he could sing high parts in Prayer if he wanted...

the point is he obviously doesn't try - it's not that he can't do it!

Singing isn't meant to be easy - he's a rock singer... if he can't sing the song I don't want to hear a half-assed version, it just shouldn't be played at all... it's a good song, but the only thing that makes it good is the power in jon's voice because musically it's not their greatest work...

Yes there's a point. Because I want to hear it
I know they tuned WAAAAAAY down for that song coz Jon just can't handle it, but I still wanna hear it live.
It's not even that the band tuned way down for the song. It's that Jon still couldn't get the notes with respect to the key they were playing in. It's annoying because you know he is good enough still to do it - but he's just not bothering to try anymore...

at least on the new stuff such as undivided he sings with the same vigour and power that he does on the original recording...

from what i remember of In These Arms at Huddersfield Jon may as well have just been "speaking" the lyrics over the music...

i know - someone else said that and i was quoting them

the fact remains it was a very uninventive setlist - hopefully that will change after a show or two...

That set list is garbage!!! Captain crash sucked 2 years ago, the song still sucks now. Why do they insist on playing that song live? Also, why bother with covers? Way too predictable of a set .

But they played the acoustic intro version in Osaka last month.

unfortunately though 1 song doesn't make a setlist good whether it is electric or acoustic...

in fact 10 good songs don't either in a set of aobut 23... MK 2001 showed that even an uninventive setlist can be 10 times better if the songs are in an order where they compliment one another...

i can think of about 11 songs from that set to scrap

Edited Version with songs that really need to go:

1. Bounce
2. You Give Love a Bad Name
3. Everyday
4. Blood on Blood
5. Livin' on a Prayer
6. Undivided
7. Runaway
8. Just Older

13. I'll Be There for You (Richie on vocals )
14. Hook Me Up

16. Captain Crash and the Beauty Queen from Mars
18. Born to Be my Baby

Encores:
1. It's my Life
2. Wanted Dead or Alive
3. Bad Medicine (abbreviate this mofo ala Yokohama 1996 and do it early to get it done with..thank you)

Yeah I know...some of u think Captain Crash needs to go....but in the scheme of things..its really not that bad and its not over played relatively. It's only in it's sophomore outing. So I left it. Though I think it could be better replaced by Two Story Town or Next 100 Years.

The covers need to stop...their catalog is too vast to waste valuable time anymore doing covers. Sleep When I'm Dead has long out lived it's live slot. Ditto for Saturday Night.

don't get me started on captain crash!

but seriously this is a backwards setlist and it resembles too much the 2001 tour YET AGAIN!

the end of the Japanese tour should have been a building point for the rest of the tour...
I totally agree. If they came up with such a setlist here in Germany I'd be more than disappointed. Let's hope for a lot of improvement!!!
