In response to the OP, P90s sound fat and have much more clarity and airiness than humbuckers so it's no wonder Phil X is bring the rock with them.

Default The Phil X guitar rig

2 Evil Robot Heads ( phil X's ) new signature amp. Pedals, well there are 2. A tuner and a Bad Monkey boost pedal. That's it. Guitars are the yamahas but recently he broke out with his ESP Viper. Which only has a bridge pickup. It's also a P90. He used that on Lay Your Hands On Me song in Orlando.
