Ok I just watched the whole show again and took a few notes for the gearaphites out there.

Tico = Pearl and Paiste and it looks like the birdhouse was carved from a single piece of tonewood, very beautiful

Hugh - Sadowsky and Fender - but in the shadows the whole show

Dave - Motif, but hard to see others

Richie and Jon -
happy now - black Sambora with white pickguard / none

thorn - blond telecaster / orange electric with bigsby and stairstep headstock, three initials but I can't get a good read on the letters JON PLAYS UNISON SOLO and the OUTRO SOLO

Dave, is this really called a birdhouse and is it an actual musical instrument or have you just made this name up?.....lol. I've never heard of this or seen one before, not that that's anything to go by because I'm not very knowledgeable about these things.

We have this exact same box on a tree at the lake and it's called a duck box. (and it works, the ducks come back to it every spring )

My wife made up the name when we first saw it in Detroit, it really is a percussion instrument, looks to be hand carved from a single piece of wood, with different thicknesses on different surfaces for different tones.
If it were really a birdhouse, the hole is bid enough for vultures to use it

I think Julie is definitely on to something because I'm pretty sure Tico got that thing from Ducks Unlimited.
