Since some of you are interested in what's being said on Backstage, I'll post a summary--but no direct text.

First, you can't get the same story about whether Jon really fell or not. Some people claim to have been "right there" and swear that he did fall; others say they were "right there" and he just slipped. I felt like I was reliability studies that no "eye witnesses" are really reliable. They do seem to agree that the stage and the ramps were very wet from the rain earlier that day. Jon wasn't interacting with the band much and he wasn't running around much.

Some say Richie was lackluster and even showed it by wearing a shirt that simply said "FCUK it". Others say he wasn't.

Jon did acknowleged a sign about David singing part of In These Arms and smiled at the girls who had it.

The band came on promptly and the show ended after 2 hours and 5 minutes. Jon left the bow immediately.

Overall, everyone has posted that they're disappointed and it was like no show any of them had ever seen before.

If anyone finds the real reason (if there was one) for Jon's pissy mood, I'd like to know.

Sounds like he was channeling Axl Rose or Elton John. I've seen him get pissed off, cuss out security guards for 5 minutes, and then promptly carry on. I've seen him get hit by a bottle in the gut, doubled over in pain, cut a song and then come back to finish the show. It makes me wonder what the hell is going on because this is not normal for Jon at all. He's never been prone to tantrums. People are comparing the show to Coventry where they say he was really sick, but gave 110% anyway. I guess that's why people are so disappointed--it's not what they went in expecting.

But it should make those people who say he's not much of a "real rock star" happy. LOL He definitely had a pissy rock star moment.

Yeh thats what is really weird. I was at Coventry and it was clear he wasnt well but he carried on and couldnt stop saying sorry to the crowd. Then we got a cracking encore and I couldnt have prasied him more for the job he did out these. Then last night we get that doesnt make sense at all.

He seemed happy enough during the first few songs. Could it be something that happened on stage? I don't know.

from "Hull Daily Mail"

HITS A REAL CROWD-PLEASER
The 23,000-plus fans who journeyed to the KC Stadium were determined not to let a few rain clouds spoil the night.

Opening with Last Man Standing - taken from the New Jersey group's 2006 album Have A Nice Day - Bon Jovi journeyed through 23 fan favourites spanning a musical journey that began in 1983.

The band drifted from its impressive back catalogue for a crowd-pleasing rendition of Status Quo's Rocking All Over The World, before airings of You Give Love A Bad Name and The Radio Saved My Life, which gave Jon Bon Jovi a chance to strut his stuff on stage before a spectacular futuristic video screen backdrop.

But, despite an impressively upbeat performance of current single Who Says You Can't Go Home, it was not until the frontman rolled out monster hits Bad Medicine and Living On A Prayer that the party really began.

JON ROCKS KC FAITHFUL
09:10 - 14 June 2006

Thousands rocked the night away at the city's KC Stadium to Bon Jovi hits.

The atmosphere was electric as the ultimate rockers, famous for hits such as Living On A Prayer and Always, took to the stage.

It was the final UK concert in Bon Jovi's Have A Nice Day world tour.

And they showed Hull just why they deserve to go down in history as one of the world's greatest bands.

A 22 metre high by 17.6 metre wide stage, built by a 300-strong team, was constructed at the stadium.

Doors opened at 4pm, but scores arrived early, despite a downpour.

Officials had billed it as the biggest event held at the stadium.

Many fans spilled on to the pitch, desperate to get closer to frontman Jon Bon Jovi, who wore a red and black biker jacket.

He certainly knows how to whip up a crowd, arriving on stage with spotlights on him.

Lifelong Bon Jovi fan Ricky Johnson and his pal Andrew Townend, both of west Hull, described the performance as "awesome".

Ricky, 20, said: "I have seen a lot of bands, but Bon Jovi was spot on tonight. He is absolutely fantastic. There is no one like him. The turn-out was great too."

Andrew, 23, agreed. He said: "He is superb. Bon Jovi is definitely one of my favourite bands. They are awesome."

Denise Singleton and her future daughter-in-law Pauline Sorfleet have been fans for many years.

Denise, 48, of east Hull, said: "Jon Bon Jovi is from my era. I have listened to him for years. He appeals to a good mix of people."

The singer, who paraded on a walkway leading off the stage, was so hyped-up that at one point he almost tripped over.

Arms shot up and swayed when the song Living On A Prayer was played.

Joanne Robinson, 24, from west Hull, took daughter Katlan, six, along to the concert.

Joanne, whose favourite Bon Jovi song is Always, said: "I am quite a big fan. I have been for about 10 years now. The atmosphere was great. He knows how to whip up the crowd."

The KC Stadium has hosted other big names in music, including Westlife, Elton John and REM.

It's gonna be biased, after all it's not very often anything decent happens in Hull so they have to big it up! Or maybe, just maybe, the general consensus was that this concert was actually good...
