Lost Highway, the album was very much oriented towards the american market.
Furthermore, it looks like success goes in circles.
While Bon Jovi was hugely popular in Europe in the 90ies, they are not so popular anymore these days over here. On the other hand, since 2000 their popularity seems to have increased continuously in the US.

The radio airplay for LH was very poor so I guess less people were interested in this tour.
Furthermore, Bon Jovi has been touring every 2 years. This is really a lot compared to other big acts (U2, Metallica, etc...) It seems normal to me that people tend to 'skip' a passage of bon jovi. (not us as die hards but just most of the people)

I guess the new tour will be arenas in europe instead of stadiums. I'm sure they will all be sold out very quickly.

What about the "playing desert and sell it out" thing ?

Neumünster 2003. The sale was that poor that they moved the show into an indoor show in Kiel. And even that wasn't sold out.

The Lost Highway tour was poor in Europe because everything was poorly promoted, from singles to album to the tour itself.
What's the point in putting out tour dates before the album's released?!
I won't buy a ticket until I've heard the album!

I would also say that people have learned to avoid any BJ tour handled by AEG Live as they are a complete shambles. It's been ticketing fiasco after ticketing fiasco.
For some reason AEG decide that seats with minimal view are classed as Gold, costing a lot more than standard tickets.
We experienced this both at Wolverhampton on the Bounce tour and again last year at Twickenham.
In both cases we were as good as behind the stage!!!
At Wolverhampton we couldn't see Dave or Tico.

At Twickenham we complained as soon as we found our seats, got given wristbands and ended up front row behind the pit on the pitch - and we didn't arrive until 6.30pm!

Hopefully there will be no such thing as "Gold Seats" this time around, or if there are, I certainly won't be tempted by them again!

I think another problem is that each tour seems to just be a "Greatest Hits" with a few new songs thrown in for good measure.
Richie said that they would quit touring when that happened, yet it just keeps happening.

Cardiff 2001 was no way sold out. They only used half the pitch and even then it wasn't full.
