Well, he absolutely has a great voice and is a great guitar player. I have both of his solo albums but I don't want to hear him sing in Bon Jovi. He is guest musician, no band member. He belongs to the Jukes where there is his place and where he is great.

I agree, he did very well, but I am not sure whether his guitar skills are as good as his vocal skills.

Bobby's presence has nothing to do with Sambora's drinking woes.

The more the merrier. It's not like an extra player takes anything away from anyone else on stage.

Well. Maybe. Whatever. Can't get worked up about it. I like the fuller sound the band have had lately, but whatever.

Of course it does; it only serves to fuel the Jon Bon Jovi = Bon Jovi fire. There is no notable difference in sound at all. Bobby is so low in the mix that it's pointless him being there. All it means is they're using less pre-recorded sounds and, even then, it's hardly a noticeable difference.

But really. I mean, what does that matter? It's clearly never going to change anyway.

I remember a thread a couple years ago and i actually got to ask bobby personally and he did indeed play the solo on the studio track of wildfire on HAND...

now i dont necc agree with that at all...but he is clearly more than just a cardboard stand for the band - plus i believe that he is used for any TLFR tracks that require more than 2 guitars in some instances (I think).

Plus the fuller sound is more mature and shows growth - i enjoy the songs with the added harmonies of the extra players including lorenza -

I mean if they are going to play the same basic songs for 25 years its nice for at least some of us diehards to hear some new versions...

no?

I disagree, they're a band of four/five people. They got by just fine for 20 years, I don't understand what changed. I'm quite a big fan of the Eagles but they haven't been nearly the same band since Felder went. Yes, the new guy is extremely technically competent, but the soul of the band disappears when you take the spotlight off the original members. Can you imagine adding extra guitarists to Cream or Pink Floyd? The fans would have been in uproar, and rightly so.

And BeExcellent, yes it does matter. The people who are just there to see a Jon Bon Jovi gig put a dampener on my concert experience.
