Ticket scalping laws are state laws. So, the cop in your state has the authority to fine Joe Schmo in front of the venue, but has no power over scalpers sitting in other states, selling tickets for a show in your state.

Also, most tickets on ebay, or via ticketsnow.com are broker tickets. Meaning a licensed broker obtained a lot of tickets (usually the best seats in the house) and is now reselling those tickets. In most states this is legal and in fact, the state does get their cut via license fees. Nothing anybody can do about this.

Yeah, that's just it - That's exactly right. That's just what pisses me off. Why are these broker agencies even allowed to exist? The whole setup is meant to screw over the customer.

It's hilarious though - They expect us to believe it's just dumb luck that they get all the good seats? This one seller on Ebay was selling 6 or 7 different pairs of tickets to Boston, within the first 15 rows.

Last time around with BJ, I think we paid $72 max for similar tickets.
Last time Bon Jovi was at the ACC, I paid $65 CDN to sit in the 300 level, which is similar to what they are going for this time around. The extra charges are disgusting though...$1.50 for the building charge plus $11.75 for the conveniece charge, and then the charge to physically get the tickets.

Another way to get tons of tickets for sold out shows is via the fanclubs for certain bands. Take U2, for example. The presale was for fanclub members only, but there was no limit or geographical restriction on the numbers/type of tickets a fanclub member can buy. So, there were people buying up blocks of tickets during the presale, for shows all over the country. Most of those tickets appearing on ebay within minutes after the presale had started. None of the tickets offered for the Seattle show were sold by somebody from the Pacific Northwest. All tickets were shipped out of Ohio, NC, NYC, you name it. It's bullshit!!! Certainly, fanclub members should be able to get tickets in advance for themselves and a couple of friends, but not to seel on ebay for three times the face value!! *evil face*

I'm so afraid I'm going to miss another tour. I want to go to Toronto, but with airfare at $450 and hotel at $250 I have to have good tickets to justify the trip, and sadly, I'm not very optimistic. I was at work today, so couldn't try the pre-sale, so Saturday is my only chance.

Good luck to everyone from me too. Hopefully some of us fans will get the good seats.

Fair warning....those connecticut tickets are going to be very difficult to get b/c the venue is so small.

I was able to get them on the Bounce tour. Since it's the only show I'm buying on Saturday, I think I should be OK.
