Pure Extortion or Ebayer Stupidity?

we have differing opinions on this. I dont feel i've been in any way selfish. Yes, if I'd have bought 20 tickets like soldoutevents on ebay and aimed to make a stack of cash of each, fair enough.
However - 2 tickets sold on a buy it now and NOT an auction for the value of all three together is wildly different - it means I can go to see Bon Jovi for the 21st time (1st time 1986) and afford it this time, otherwise there was no way I could have afforded £100+

I'd like to know how many people on here bought extra to sell and daren't mention it. It's called capitalising on a situation.

There are lots of people who could do something about it:
1. The ticket agencies
2. The promoters
3. the bands themselves - the advent of the internet means that more people can be reached in fairer ways but most bands choose not to do anything about it.

You need to make the distinction between bulk buyers and average joe's selling a couple of extra tickets for pocket money.

Guess theres not much more to add. we could go on like this forever. Lets move on and start moaning about the predictablility of the setlist!!!!!!!

Since you asked - yes, as it turns out, I did end up with a spare for genuine reasons and you know what, I was actually decent enough to sell it on to a genuine fan at face value!

No attempt to try and recuperate costs of the other three I bought - sold on for £100 (+£10.50 booking fee).

It isn't a business at all. It takes no effort and no talent but reaps massive financial gain. To call it a business is an insult to everyone out there who has struggled through the ins and outs of running a 'real' business and getting it off the ground.

Label it what you like - touts are scum!

I can't take the issue as a serious problem either way, but. The problem is not the sellers, but the buyers. If no one were prepared to pay above face value, all the tickets would go to genuine fans. And these are usually the people who shout the loudest about touts beingn scum.

It wasnt to hard to get a ticket in the 400s when the tickets went on sale, and after I got my £50 tix, whcih may well be in the car park, I checked a few times sporadically during Wednesday morning and there were tickets available. Everyone has been going mad with the A blocks, but Im quite happy to just be there at all. Got on See at 9am, got the cheapest tickets then did some work. There was the odd few tickets re-appearing on See/TM during the day/week also, just not the super tickets that people were wanting.
