I even started a thread on this board during the Prudential shows in 2007 asking if anyone thought I was being a big shithead for refusing to sit down. The answer was a big NO and I continued to stand during the rather apathetic Newark shows.
When you say that, all I think of is Pru Night 3, when I almost smacked a woman for telling me to "sit my fatass down" between RSOW and LYHOM.

I agree with you about the video screen aspect, as everything I've seen reminds me of the screens from the MSG shows on the LH Tour, which was some of the coolest stage design I've ever seen, with the highlight being the WGIGO step routine. Do the screens still do that venetian blinds bit?
You just reminded me on what I need to do today. I have to admit I still haven't sat down and watched MSG through yet. Just skipping ahead to certain congs. While watching the show, I did think of bits like It's My Life from MSG. Basically they've turned the notch up on that.

The screens do all sorts of variations. When the band arrives, the screens separate into little bits moving out into all different directions to reveal the band. Almost like a slow motion explosion.

Un ****in believeable. I remember the apathy over Right Side of Wrong in 2003 as well, whereas I was quite excited to get it that night (the downside was I never got to see Hook Me Up done live.) Those people truly disgust me. I remember looking at the c...erm...women (I'm avoiding calling them what I really want to out of respect and the fact that I really don't go around calling women that) who decided to have a conversation during the acoustic part get up and start singing Prayer at the end. I was like "how dare you, you don't deserve to enjoy this."

Thankfully I've never been told to sit down at a rock show because I would go absolutely mad if someone did. For me the point of a show is to go and have a good time, and by standing up,clapping, swaying, etc you're paying the artist a compliment. It's the dicks who sit down and talk that are being disrepectful of other fans and the band. I mean fair enough, sit down if you're tired or whatever but don't deafen everyone in the vicinity with mindless banter and don't try and make people arond you sit down because you can't see!

This turned into a bit of a rant but I just think it's so stupid..

In fact, just to recall a brief illustrative example, the concert in Manchester 2008 has a fantastic crowd and everyone seemed really into it. But, when diamond ring came on I noticed a general lull and everyone around me sat down or started chatting. It seems that during these moments any concert etiquette is forgotten and people who actually want to listen to the music have to put up with real crap from more casual fans, simply because it's a rarity or a slow song.

Rant part 2 over.

Then you know what I was feeling inside. Plus, they started farting. They were just so disrespectful that unfortunately, even though it could be aggresively worse like beer throwing, that aspect of the show is going to be burned in to my memory....fortunately I have Hey God. It honestly was surreal and the last thing I ever expected of them in Anaheim, CA. It says alot for what Europe has in store for them. I've always compared the setlists for the local shows from the 90's on through. Frankly, the East Coast has always had it better than the West, and Europe takes it to a whole other level.

I hope you were extremely rude to her. WTF is wrong with people?

I have a feeling that you're going to have a ball with me when it comes to people asking me to sit down.

I hope my seats tend to be located near yours at the shows. Believe me I was wishing someone like you was with me last night. I felt like I was having a quiet battle with these people. They kept glancing at me all around, it was nearly enough to illicit paranoia. I'm sure they considered me to be a Nazi, especially those across the stairwell behind me who sent one of their drones out in an attempt to regulate me.
