Does Bon Jovi know?

And to get back to the screens, it really doesn't matter how they're programmed. Recorded a special video with actors like they did for the Bounce Tour cost a lot of money, just like these robots cost a lot of money (though obviously more). They however can always decide to ditch the visuals for a certain song and replace it by a song they'd rather play. This appears not to be the case and 1 surprise in 3 shows pretty much proves that Jon's bullshit isn't true. You're saying we should give it time, but the band should be ready at the start of the tour, not after the 20th gig when Jon's finally arsed enough to mix it up properly. Fans who paid for the third show deserve the same sort of show as the fans who go see the band on their 20th gig.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

What really pisses me of are the screens. If the reason for not changing the set is because they jave prepared videos and programmed moving screens really sucks!! Who needs this? I go to the show to enjoy the music and not some ****ing moving screens. I beleive it looks great, no doubt about this. But it seems to me that they can't offer a proper rock show now so they need to have things like those on stage.
Do you think the stage is programmed for the whole show or just for the songs? If it is for the show (that's sounds stupid to me - it would mean that Jon has a given time period between the songs for speakinh etc) then it sucks even more. If the programming is just for the songs, I can't they can't change the order or leave something out and play a different songs with static screens showing the band playing. I'm really sad, this band is definitely leaving the grounds of rock'n'roll, for me. ****ing programming... give me another Hawaii shows than an unchanging setlist. I'm also afraid that the changes done the second night were because of it being the seconf night at one place and that the set of the first night is what they will play every show. I'm really disappointed.
And the flow - I don't how it is at the show itself but listening to the bootleg - the flow is terrible. The LH shows made the crows moving because there were songs like Just Older, Captain Crash, Raise Your Hands, Runaway. And now? WLOL, LH, ST, WWWB - I was really bored while listening to the glendale show. Also the ballad and acoustic set - why is it all on a row??

And about being asked to sit down - here you go, the great idea of having seats at a rock'n'roll show. That's why I hate them.
The screens are for certain songs. I outlined the points in the show that are interchangeable on another thread. Where the screens are used on a grander scale, they are very effective and complementary. As a whole, the format is still flexible and ultimately Seb and I are making the same point, while getting there differently. They ARE changing things around, just slowly and gradually. There are slots for anything goes and anything will go. It comes down to too little thus far for some people.

I do agree that WLOL brought the pace down too early and they really need to inject more electrified choices during the main set. Tokyo Road would have been ideal.

I really don't think the staging is interfering. They have a good balance of open slots with the big production ones. It's a matter of changing the pacing and song choices around. What they are working with is an excellent format though.

People, let's be reasonable here. Diehards who visit more than one show in the same city get enough variation - 4-5 songs are changed.
Looking at twitter, Bon Jovi has 70,000 + followers. The same number of people watched the live streaming from Seattle. Let's say that's the number of diehards, who follow Bon Jovi's every step. On the other hand, millions will visit the tour. So, you can't expect the whole show to be changed every night, because of a relatively small percentage of the audience. How many people follow the PBPs here? Around 90. If one person from JT is going to a show, it's almost like an event. That's the reality.

Not really. In Europe Bon Jovi have lost many fans because the same fans from the era of the nineties consider Bon Jovi more of the same, and say that every show is the same, no matter what album they're promoting. I've got a friend who's boyfriend has stopped seeing Bon Jovi because he really thinks it's more of the same every show. And who can blame him really?

Look, Bon Jovi has to decide who to cater to the most - the die hards, who come back time after time or to the casual fans or to try to capture new audience. As much as we don't like it, this is also a business. What I've learned in business classes is that repeat customers are priceless and those are the ones you want to keep. Obviously, Bon Jovi doesn't see it that way, but it looks like the band is trying to strike a balance.

That's not true - you were judging all the time during the LH tour.

I judge it from what I've heard - the Glendale show. All of my points have been already said in this thread
And I mean that I wouldn't be able to enjoy it the way he did (I skipped the word "way" in my earlier post). Yes, I would enjoy the second show, not both of them that much because they are almost similar...
