I think fireworks add a lot to a show, the crowd go wild and it just makes for a richer experience.
They might have stopped to save on money.

With the ticket prices they've been charging, I
really don't think they need to worry about money too much. KISS uses pyro CONSTANTLY during every concert and their tickets are still affordable.
