I understand the different pricing strategies and the pro and cons for fans and the band alike but I feel as though Bon Jovi take it too far. Anthony, Flea, John and Chad made enough money on that last tour to live comfortably, maybe not enough to buy an NFL football team but maybe there in lies the problem.

All hail RHCP. New album August 30th and can't wait! They're a band I will travel up the East Coast to see and play rarities in the US.
The only problem I have with that strategy is that it eliminates any kind of cheaper option, and leads to seats in the nosebleeds costing like $90.

That's one of the "cons" I have already addressed about the "one price/first come first serve" type concert but didn't feel it was necessary to re-hash and seem as though I hold artists like RHCP who do this on a pedestal (well not all of them anyway . What I would say to your point is this:

1. Yes, it does make the nosebleeds more expensive than say Bon Jovi's nosebleeds typically are but many artists I am familiar with who do the one or two price system don't even go as high $90.

2. On the flip shot, it gives fans a chance who can't afford a $100+ floor ticket to be on the floor or in a club box more so than a band that has different price levels.

3. I'm not saying artists like Katy Perry are in the same league as Bon Jovi or U2 but simply using her as an example, she has $47.50 for GA, Floor, Lower and Clubs all for $47.50 and the upper level is $39.50. So she has the more desirable seats at one price and has the upper level priced a few bucks cheaper.

1. I meant $90 when including the Ticketmaster fees.

2. I definitely think it has some pros, no question. Honestly the Katy Perry "style" system would be fine for me, with Two-tier's of affordable ticketing.

Take That also managed to sell 500,000 tickets in Manchester alone. That is amazing.

After seeing the show they put on I'm not surprised, you'd have to be dead to not enjoy that.

I went to a Linkin Park concert this February at Madison Square Garden and with fees I paid $90. They had one or two packages but they were nowhere near what Jovi charges. They have a fan club too and certain things were open to members at different price levels if they met had certain criteria.

I would rather all tickets be the same price but with the nose bleeds being less. As long as they make money and fill the venues the pricing out fans will not change. Remember many fans could be considered sheep because they continue to follow by buying these packages because they can afford it like its an entitlement. One person was willing to forgo paying their mortgage bill to buy the expensive package.

I would love to do it at least once if I had the means but I don't. I see a lot of broker sites both for music and sporting events including Stub Hub and 500 tickets may be for sale. What happens if tickets don't sell. Is the agency or the seller out of luck if their tickets don't sell. I don't include people who sell their tickets by themselves.

This Friday I will be buying two Arctic Monkeys tickets for myself at different venues. With booking fees included, the price of both combined will not match what I payed for Bon Jovi without the booking fee.

It's poor, really.

Wrong info. It was just that the GC was devided into two pieces with just a barrier inbetween but not space. The security stood in the back of the first GC so there was just a barrier which didn't take away very much space. And the first GC was not just for Fanclub members but for everyone with GC until it was packed. I was in the first GC and there were loads of non-members in there.

I personally was glad that they devided the GC. I only had GC tickets and was afraid to stand in a huge crowd with shoving and pushing and no way to get to the toilet. This way I could stand in the back of the first GC and could come and go whenever I wanted to.

Some thank you that is by pricing them out.
Point well made. I was reading a post from someone on here last week complaining that they were in DC and the stage was too high. I wish I had replied at the time as I can't find the thread now but it would have been "think yourself f**king lucky you can afford to be in the DC" I mean if the stage was lower how are those people in GA who have been pushed further back meant to see.
