Oh yeah, I agree totally.
NOTHING will ever beat the first time I heard Prayer and Saturday Night live.

I think Homebound Train qualifies as the most rare one I've heard. Some people here are dying to hear it, but I don't even like it. Don't know why they had to waste it on me.

Aloha !

Right, here we go.

June 5th, 2001 - Amsterdam

Raise Your Hands, Hey God and Something To Believe In.

Raise Your Hands had only been played 1 time that tour so far, and that was in Japan. Hey God and Something To Believe In obviously were very rare as the band already were barely playing anything from These Days at that time.

May 30th, 2003 - Gelsenkirchen
All About Lovin' You (acoustic).

Jon was in a piss poor mood but it changed half way the show and after the final encore they came back and did the song with just 2 guitars. The crowd didn't know what to do actually, and a lot of chatting started. It felt like something extra from Jon because he knew that he hadn't delivered that night.

June 3rd, 2003 - Amsterdam
I Believe and Rockin' All Over The World.

I Believe was played because of our banners and was the big surprise of the European tour so far. Rockin' All Over The World was added to the set just after Sleep had finished and the band didn't know what song Jon started.

June 8th, 2003 - Ostend
I'd Die For You and Lay Your Hands On Me

2 girls had been bringing banners to about every European show so far requesting I'd Die For You and finally Jon gave in and played the song. And ****ed up the first verse as well. Lay Your Hands On Me had not been played at all that tour and was given an outing that night as well. And sounded absolutely dreadfull. Worst version ever of the song.

June 28th, 2003 - London
Lay Your Hands On Me, Blood On Blood, Lola, These Days and Never Say Goodbye (acoustic)

Lay Your Hands On Me was the second time that tour, or something. It still sounded shit. Blood On Blood was a nice addition to the set and a rare song that tour. Lola was done with Ray Davies, which was nice, These Days was rare and sounded shit. Never Say Goodbye was a proper closer of the night though.

May 13th, 2006 - Dusseldorf
Joey and Dry County

Joey was a song they didn't have to do for me, but was obviously played because Jon wanted to. Dry County was the big surprise of the night, and in fact of the entire tour. A very special moment and the first time I heard the song live.

May 22nd, 2008 - Gelsenkirchen
Always. Blood On Blood and a small part of Rockin' All Over The World

Always so far was/is one of the big surprises of the Lost Highway Tour and was very cool to hear for the first time. Rockin' All Over The World had only been done once before and Blood On Blood had been dropped for most of their last American shows.

June 3rd, 2008 - Frankfurt
Lay Your Hands On Me, Damned and These Days

Lay Your Hands On Me had been dropped for most of the American leg and was almost played like it was supposed to be played. Damned obviously was the big surprise of the night and rocked. These Days as an extra track from These Days and sung properly for the first time since 1996 was very special as well.

June 13th, 2008 - Amsterdam
Diamond Ring, Always and Stick To Your Guns

Diamond Ring was done of a banner, Always followed again but the big surprise of the night was Stick To Your Guns which was done live for the first time since 1988. Absolutely amazing and the first time I was shaking when sending a text message to a Jovitalker.

Roll on Twickenham where I'll get to hear them all again!

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

I've only seen the band live once, last year, at their great show at the O2 in London.

Due to being a promo show, it was a pretty safe setlist, but we got to hear all the Lost Highway songs for the first time in Europe, so that was kinda special.

Rarity-wise we got The Last Night (I thought it was good live and it got me into the song), Hallelujah (One of Jon's best peformances in the whole of 2007) and Any Other Day, which featured Richie's fantastic solo, and was done like that for the first time, as far as I know.

When was that? 2001, right? Back then I didn't have internet at home, so I was siiting in school following the setlists. I clearly remember my excitement when I read they played "Homebound Train". I always considered this a cool rock song, which reminds me of Led Zeppelin. I then told a friend, who is not a 'fan', but has all their albums. he just said "there are better songs".

Shame they played it only once, but again, I'm not sure how it went over live. Is there a video of it? Didn't find anything on youtube.
