Oh why oh why must people keep answering this post. I agree that most people except for me and some others here do not know how to behave at a rock show. However. Don't tell me that in the upper parts of the stadium people are standing and being into it the whole show without going for a beer run or to the bathroom? If the answer is no I call bullshit. Yes I agree the vibe and sets are better but what bothers me is this elitist attitude that many of you have towards us. Then again maybe there are people here who do the same when it comes to how we perceive the world outside of our own.

When Jon did IBTFY, I was one of the first people trying to get close enough. I haven't heard them do that way since 2001, so for me it was very emotional. We aren't all like you perceive us to be.

I been at quite some concerts in the front of the stadium and at least 90% is standing focussed on the artist/band and doesn't go to the toilet until the show is over nor getting a drink. Those thinks are done in the break between support and main act. Up front you also hardly will hear people talk with eachother during songs which frustrates me heavily if it DOES happen. If people have the desire to talk during each song they better stay home next time and play a CD.

Note that I am talking about the people standing on the floor in the front. Not the ones sitting high and far away from the band

It's not an elitist attitude. A lot of videos just prove how different the crowds are. Ofcorse there are exceptions on both sides.

I salute you,
TS

Although I have to admit that in the upper parts of the stadium people aren't as into it as they are on the lawn there really is no way they are chatting themselves thru the gigs like most Americans do. Yes, the occasional pee break happens, but a beer break during a certain part of the show is non existent here for the majority of the people. That might be hard to believe for you, but it is the honest truth.

I also don't think that many people on Jovitalk doubt the way you act during a gig, it's merely us being surprised at how most people behave in America during concerts.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

Well doesnt happen that much at arena gigs but with the advent of walking beer men at stadiums it is the job.You dont have to go for a beer break they bring the beer to you- which is sweet

I don't drink alcohol at concerts, It just ruins the experience.

You have to piss all the time as well as find more beer. I get my spot twenty minutes before the opening act and don't move until the lights go down.

At Hyde park I must have been in the same spot for eight hours

Which is more due to the fact that you won't get your place back. People with a seat do go for a drink - not all, but none either.

How does a beer or two ruin anything? You either can't take that much, or you can't stop?

A few beers don't outweigh all the dehydration.

I respect your opinions and that's what discussion does.I don't need anybody to doubt or believe how I act at a show. I wish most times I could see a how over seas crowds react to a Jovi show, just to get a glimpse of what you guys experience.

Seriously, I wouldn't have believed the difference until I watched that webcast last night. And I've been to Jovi arena shows too where everything is seated. The crowd's just seem into it more. The US crowds (in a huge sweeping generalisation) look like they've gone to watch a ball game.

Did I say a beer or two? I said drinking, which means throughout the show.

And alcohol displaces water in the body, so after a beer or two I'm going to be pissing all night and be thirsty.

As I said, too much trouble.

Now a club show or a festival is a different matter.
