I go to a show to hear Jon sing so I don't sing along to the rarities either. I can hear myself sing while I'm driving. I don't scream during songs either. I find that obnoxious.

When I saw the band at the O2 in 2007 I needed a piss pretty much the entire show, and it somewhat marred my enjoyment of the gig. However, that Oasis gig is still the only time I've pissed at a gig, and I'll defend it by saying that I knew the setlist off by heart and went during a definite lowlight of the show.

Of course there are fans in Europe that go for piss breaks etc, but it's a very small number of the whole audience. The same can't be said for The American shows. Just look at Dry county on the MSG DVD. The aisles are packed with people walking about.
I sat behind the stage for MSG Night One, and had the whole crowd out in front of me. There was NOT this mass exodus that you're talking about. There were people moving about, like pretty much anytime during a show, nothing more than that.

I didn't realize you were behind the stage Brian. I wasn't but I didn't remember a mass exodus either. Obviously we were both there.

I'm also gonna take some screenshots of the Blu-Ray. People have kept repeating the same thing about Dry County and I just didn't see it.

This discussion is not going to change anybody's mind but its interesting to talk about. Eveybody has different points of view. Americans and Europeans have aspects of culture that can be reserved. There is nothing wrong with being too energetic or the opposite at a show. I agree over the pond set lists tend to have more rarities than in the U.S. I've seen subdued crowds in Europe. I've seen ppl go for the bathroom or for a beer break in numbers of ten during songs that they don't know or care for. That drives me crazy. I don't move from my seat unless I am up on my feet reacting to the music. If I get worked up then I have to sit. People look at me funny all the time during shows but it doesn't bother me. Don't even tell me to sit down.If I am too loud then tell me that too. I don't care.

I am the type of person who sings and moves during songs surrounded by people who just sit or stand with no emotion. Taking in a song is one thing but not being engaged positively is another. If someone goes just to please their significant other stay the **** home and give the ticket to someone else.

I looked through my computer to see if I had any photos from that night of DC, and I found even better. Here's about 3 minutes of DC (from second chorus through the first solo) and you get a very good view of most of the crowd. Just uploaded it to YT, and you can see that their is no MAJOR exodus. (BTW, I apologize in advance for my horrid singing. I can actually hold much better notes now..lol)

Thanks Brian this is excellent - looks to me that the crowd was right where they belonged.

I won't say word about the singing

So many people have badmouthed this DVD/BluRay release and the American audience during the MSG concerts - especially during Dry County. I was there both nights and I just didn't see it.

What I did see (and hear) on the BluRay was horrible audio editing. At one point when Jon was trying to get the crowd to sing, the response sounded silent - but I have audio from that show and I can verify that it wasn't silent. Later on in the show (on the BluRay) when Jon was going for audience participation the crowd was there loud and clear. Whoever did that editing did a pretty poor job in my opinion.

I see no exodus either. The other problem is the flow of songs since everything is out of sequence. My only thought I have during DC was the way Terri and I reacted to it never mind people around us.

It's the same on the DVD and as I said in the MSG post it's another reason that obi should be fired
