Reviews of the band
I was reading a review today of the band in a Sunday newspaper (News Of The World, - not the same as C'monFeet has posted - some may say that discredits anything I have to say right now).
However, I was reading this review in utter shock. We all know Bon Jovi aren't liked in the press. We know it's not cool to like them and can even see why they aren't liked. However, the reviewer in this case criticised Bon Jovi (or just Jon, really, as it is these days) because of the following:
- When Jon talks to the crowd, it's soulless. He is not a good frontman.
- He sounds like 'Grampa' from 'The Simpsons' while singing 'Hallelujah'
- Everything he does at a show is auto-pilot except for a dance and shake of maracas in 'Keep The Faith'
- There is no sponatneous factor to the show
- Going to the show is okay for 'grabbing your friend and screaming the lyrics to 'Wanted Dead Or Alive', but this band give rock a bad name'.
This thread is because of the fact that really this band just gets judged on harsh things nowadays. The review didn't really mention how the show was based on performance or mention any other band member (they usually talk about Richie at least).
Obviously a topic which is talked about lot and will continue to be, but do you think Bon Jovi get judged fairly? Do they get judged on what matters, the music, or is it all about how they had long hair and silly clothes a few years ago and now that they've changed they're still fake?
