Richie live at Download Festival 2014

Richie was on tonight's show.

They showed the full Wanted, a snippet of LYHOM and full Stranger plus an interview. It's nothing majorly different from what we've seen recently, Richie's playing was fine but his voice sounded a bit rough. It's nice to see a pro shot HD performance.

He actually laughed when he said it,have you thought he was having a joke at the expense of JBJ? As for the hand thing,it's a bon jovi thing,not a Jon bon jovi thing (its possibly a Doc Mcghee thing actually as Kiss do very similar).

He's done that many times, sometimes even when playing Lay Your Hands during Jovi shows, so I really doubt he was poking fun at Jon, that would've been silly.

There's an old interview with Richie where he speaks about the tone of the guitars on Stick To Your Guns being 'heavy metal' and that he intended Lay Your Hands On Me to sound like a gospel metal tune. It's an interview from 1988, before New Jersey came out so nothing to do with the whole Dolly Parton gospel thing. It would't be completely out of the realm of the possible that Richie actually came up with that hole 'rock 'n' roll church' idea. I think actually in the same interview, he speaks about Metal Church and how he digs their cover of Highway Star or something like that. So anyhow - nothing wrong with Richie using that line. I don't think it's a dig at Jon or him trying to steal a line. It just fits with the vibe of the tune....

I thought Richie sounded decent. Bit hyper in his interview at times but nothing different.

Still a bit weak but certainly listenable. I don't like Orianthi on backing vocals for 'Wanted Dead Or Alive' though. Need someone with a bit more power for that part.

Looked like the crowd loved him to be fair!

I'm not saying he was taking the piss,but the whole saga over the last couple of years has been constant childish backbiting so I don't see something like that would be classed as silly.

Does anybody have performance of Richie from tv?

I have it on my TV recorder but have no means of putting it online. Sky are pretty vigilant when it comes to removing their copyrighted material from Youtube but it should be up within the next few months.
