Yeah what was that guy doing ? He just stood at the back of the stage while the other 5 sang. Wasn't he a part of a competition to get to sing on stage ?

No idea. It was very strange. Maybe he doesn't like Prayer or he thought he'd be singing on his own. Or maybe he was just pissed. Either way, he looked like a dick.

I did chuckle at the reaction that the good looking girl got. She got more of a reaction than Sugar Daddy or Nowadays.

Yeah Richie gave her a much more intimate hug than the rest.

Cool

Really enjoyed the gig. Richie's voice and guitarwork were brilliant in places and at least solid the rest of the time.

Stranger got a fantastic reaction and was pretty much note-perfect so was disappointed not to hear more from that album - don't care about Undiscovered Soul as much. For me the only real disappointment was Prayer - it dragged on, the tempo was turgid throughout, and those contestants looked awkward. He also lost a few people in the middle with the extended jamming - needs to think about the setlist a bit.

And he seems to be on a, ahem, mood enhancer of some description (medication? drink? who knows?). Almost floating around the stage at times! Also thought Orianthi looked a bit out of it. Still though, he mostly performed fantastically, so yay! Bring on Glasgow!

One of the reasons he struggled a little as a front man was because no one could understand what he was saying. I wonder was he pissed or is he a natural mumbler. He never struck me as particularly unintelligible in interviews but there's something not right.

The crowd interaction I could understand was pretty awful too. The stuff about his daughter, Dublin/New Jersey having lots in common and leaving it at that etc. all sounded stupid or forced. He can't hold a candle to Jon in terms of working a crowd. However, based on what I've seen of Jon lately, Richie pisses all over him in terms of singing.

However, he was excellent. Brought my missus who had zero interest in him but when he sang she was stunned. "I'd say he must have been fed up in Bon Jovi stuck behind a guitar. He can really sing."

He did waste a few songs. Nowadays, Weathering the Storm and Sugar Daddy should all be dropped. Stick in another Jovi, Stranger and Undiscovered Soul song in their place. Stranger and Seven Years Gone went over best from his solo songs while the Jovi songs took the roof off the place. Prayer was wasted a bit. He brought on 6 local singers and one of them just stood with his hands in his pockets and refused to sing. He deserved a kick in the hole from Richie. However, LYHOM, WDOA and These Days were excellent while IBTFY was phenomenal.

He was behind on lyrics at times and botched Stranger a bit "Everybody loves a loser, till the loser wins, and then it's front page news, nobody loves a winner....<oh shit what to I sing now?>"

Richie is no Jon Bon Jovi as a front man. He can't work a crowd as well as an on-form Jon and he never will. But he put on a great show and can hold his own. I hate how he left the band, I hate how unprofessional he's been and I hate that he is classless in a lot of his interviews and actions (He took another dig during Learning How To Fly). However, if this is what the fella wants to do then good luck to him. I was massively and pleasantly surprised and hugely entertained and it was obvious that he's enjoying himself too.
What were his digs?

After the "I got fooled by a famous face" line, he again said 'guess which one'. It's open to interpretation but there's no doubt in my mind it was a dig at Jon.

If he's said the song is about Heather, why would he suddenly change who it's a dig at?

I am still pissed at Richie for doing what he did before the last Jovi tour and still think he was wrong for just walking out. Having said that i do wonder if the reason some of this solo gigs have been getting a bad review is because of what he did with regards to leaving the band.

I don't think the media really cares or would slam him with a bad review unless it effecting them personally. More than likely it doesn't mean much to them.
