Well, that's your opinion. I have a different one... and I'm not alone.

Yeah, but unlike yours, mine is based upon what's really going on, as opposed to some weird twisted view on reality and assumptions about a man that only seems to exist in your fantasies.

The man is a drunk, and keeps falling down more and more. He's not a bluesman, he's not a surivor, he's not a true artist, he's just a drunk riding on former successes.

And please, stop providing youTube videos of which you think show how passionate he is. I'm sure Richie believes he is, I'm sure a lot of fans believe he is, but in the end of the line it's all he's really got left. Passion. His talent and skill has made room for sloppiness, a shitload of mistakes and drunk mumblings.

The Richie Sambora you keep talking about, keep defending, keep saying he is, doesn't exist. It'd be nice if you'd either get used to it, or at least stop accusing others of wanting him to be something he's never been in the first place.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

Disagree with you again. Richie possibly lose its status Rock Star which is apparently all that matters, the perfect play and clean image. That's not the real blues. Richie is in a deteriorated condition, but not a disaster, and remains a musician who tries to follow his way out of the band. Everyone goes through bad times. You can say whatever you want, but there are times in the shows that are great.

Richie continues climbing the stage yet, not for money, not for the fans, but because he wants to make his music. That is a winner for me.

Yeah, in Dublin there seemed to be a bit of hostility between them. I'm sure Richie said something along the lines of "here's Orianthi, hopefully she remembers the chords" then she stood out of the spotlight for ages until he ran over and bumped into her before giving her a goofy smile. Then during LOAP he stopped her from singing the chorus in order for the support acts to take the spotlight. She looked awkward as f*ck.

The same kind of stuff happened in Belfast. It's interesting what you miss if you're not actually at a show.

You just don't seem to understand that no one gives a shit about Richie's image as long as his playing is good. You accuse people on here for wanting something just so you can make your point, but your accusations are wrong.

He can go out boozing all he wants to, party all he wants to, **** 18 year old strippers all he likes, as long as his shows stay credible and his playing good. But it isn't, all exactly because his lifestyle is preventing him from doing this, and it's hard to take a singer seriously when he's singing about Seven Years being Gone because he went out boozing, while being drunk at the same time.

You seem to think that whenever a musician's playing a few blues scales, talks about the blues and lives a shitty life, it must mean he's a bluesplayer. Richie's anything but. Richie's a guy who's tried selling his story by creating a pop rock album with a little hard rock here and there. Just because he's saying he's got the blues, has played the odd song with real blues players doesn't mean he's actually playing the blues. Richie Sambora is playing generic scales over average pop songs, and yes, every now and then he's nailing it. But playing from his heart like real blues players have done? No chance.

How is Richie climbing the stage? He released a mediocre album and 2 years later he's still touring it, sells fewer tickets than last time, youTube is filled with videos of him screwing up song, after song, after song. He's even started messing up his own signature songs. How is Richie Sambora climbing the stage?

Sebastiaan

Aside from the playground argument going on, the guy (Sambo's Apprentice) said he really liked the show and Richie was in good form. He just said he was utterly sloshed after when he met him personally, so it does not come down to wanting the perfect idol in his case. It was just an observation.

That Orianthi comment is funny (about forgetting the chords). Firstly, she is playing songs she is probably not used to, and some of which she probably has no taste for. Secondly, Richie forgets enough of his own shit to not be calling anyone out. Thirdly, I do not rate her highly, but she is a better guitar player than Richie at this moment. Fourthly, it is not good to call another guitar player, especially one verging on virtuoso out in front of the crowd, these guys/gals have huge egos after years of dedicated practise.

That said, perhaps it was a joke that she was in on.

She looked unimpressed with the state he was in.... I d say Richie probably has a dark side to him away from the clown persona / funny guy he portrays.

One that is exacerbated by drink n drugs!

Yeah, I remember that comment, or words to that effect anyway. Orianthi didn't seem excited to be there and was doing this constant chewing thing which given how out of it she seemed made me think she was on something. Maybe the pair of them just love getting high together and basically using each other. It's an odd vibe!

Im with you . Im loving Richie especially this tour . The shows i saw earlier this year were fantastic ! Drunk , drugged , sober ? I dont care .... He is doing for me what he has always done ... Pure rock , blues , brilliant guitar playing . Having Ori there is a bonus too . Bring on the new record and another tour !!!

Also, tall people holding phones/cameras up for most of the gig:wtf? Blocking other people's views and not even appreciating what is right in front of you!
So with that I take it you never watch YouTube videos from gigs?
