Default Richie playing for "the troops".

http://www.supportthecorps.com/homepage.htm

Looks like Richie's playing at a concert for the US troops in California, along with KISS and Destiny's Child. No civilians allowed.

An unforgettable event to celebrate our Marines and sailors returning from service in Iraq and show appreciation for the United States Marine Corps (USMC) and the men & women of active duty who serve to safeguard freedom for all American citizens.

ah well done richie. thank you for supporting those who keep the world safe and free.

ahhh, why shouldn't he support those that give their lives to make ours a better one?

Supporting the troops does not mean supporting war. Nor does it mean the troops themselves support the war --- unfortunately, the ones that gives their lives have not more to say in it than the rest of the general population.

I agree but I'd like to add that I think it would be a good idea to implement a compulsory military service in the US, so that some people would finally gain an insight into whom and what they actually support.
The ones that give their lives are not the sort of heroes the media want them to be. They don't save the freedom for the ones back home in the first place, although I think that this is really what they get rammed into them. They do a job, a tough one, and they often have to do it for much less respectable reasons than "saving western freedom".

and that is exactly why they need support.

The people signing on do it for idealistic reasons mostly and imo, are ready to make the ultimate sacrifice.

it wasn't really necessary but HERE is ther OFFICIAL CONFIRMATION of this

from bj.com

RICHIE SAMBORA has been officially added to the line-up of ROCKIN' THE CORPS, a live music/media event taking place on Friday, APRIL 1st at Camp Pendleton in San Diego, CA. This is a 'thank you' to military personnel for their service. Camp Pendleton is the West Coast home of the US Marine Corps. The event will feature performances by Destiny's Child, Ja Rule, Godsmack, KISS, Hootie & The Blowfish and Ted Nugent. Cedric The Entertainer is the host. Additional celebrities such as Sharon Stone, Marisa Tomei, Michelle Rodriguez and Randy Jackson will all be taking part. RICHIE SAMBORA will be doing a short acoustic set - he flew Hugh McDonald (bass,) Everett Bradley (percussion) and Lorenza Ponce (violin) to join him on stage. While ROCKIN' THE CORPS is a free event, it's open only to active military personnel and their families. The evening will be filmed for subsequent release (tv and dvd.) This is not a political event - it is patriotic and a gift to the troops at Camp Pendleton - there is no political stance involved.

***** it's not politc but patriotic and a dvd will be released .. Richie Hugh , Lorenza Everett and no Jon.... isn't this the first time ?
