He was pretty Damn good there, and got a decent reception. Almost makes you wish Jovi had given Glastonbury a bash one year. Richie himself would have been a decent afternoon slot too
Very much an opportunity for Richie to give Jon the middle finger and point out who has played main stage at Glastonbury!!!

Of course, I can also now see Jon pushing for a slot of his own.

Must be hard watching for all the automatically negative people that waste their time on this board.

The fact is that Richie has achieved a huge amount of publicity in the media and a huge amount of live audience exposure in the space of just 48 hours by playing with two of the biggest musical icons on the planet.

Pretty ironic that it took taking leave of Bon Jovi to end up on the pyramid stage of one of - if not the biggest - music festival on earth.

I have been hugely negative about Richie, because the things I have been saying about him have been true. I am the same about Jon and his voices, but if he showed up and sung well I would say it. As such, Richie has been much better the last week than he was the first week of his tour. It is good to see that Richie still has something, although if people think he is at his best they have low expectations. It also does not excuse that first week when Richie frankly let his fans down.

The rest I feel even you know is silly. Firstly, surely you do not think that Richie's profile will increase dramatically and he'll find a new audience? 48 hours of media expsoure or not, he is an artist that plays to a few hundred people. Why he should have to play to more I don't know, if he wants to knock around the globe playing to that kind of crowd and that's all he can do, it should be fine. However, I think assuming he will find any other substantial fan base from this is a stretch.

I am not sure the point you are making about playing at one of the biggest festival, are you suggesting he needed to leave Bon Jovi to play these iconic venues? I would list the iconic venues Bon Jovi have played with and now sadly without Richie, but you know them, so again what's the point?

With the Bon Jovi name Jon could headline Glastonbury if he chose to. With that said, I really doubt it was like that at all, Richie is having a great time there and milked his appearance for all it was worth and he rocked it!!! I really doubt while he was playing that solo and outro he had Jon on his mind.....

One thing I hope that has been proved is that he's sober. Look at his performances and the way he is, I'm fed up of people throwing the drunk thing around.

Well, I have commented on that sparingly anyway because it is not something I actually care about either way. I know someone will probably check, but I don't think I have mentioned him being pissed or whatever. He is a bit of a shambles in the way he looks, but perhaps he is just a scruffy bastard or is living in the past a bit. None of that has any bearing on the problems I have with him though, and neither does the thing with Bon Jovi either. When he sucks I say it, if he sucks less I say it, when/if he is really good I will say it.

I think if Glasto booked Bon Jovi there would be a bigger uproar than the one caused by booking Metallica.

Didn't realise Richie went back to London after the Dolly performance. Good on him, he's gone solo, put himself out there abit and whilst he most certainly milked the appearance, I highly doubt he'll grace the Pyramid stage again so fair play to him for making the most of it. He sounded good.

I've been as critical of Richie as anyone but thought he was excellent. He milked it but why wouldn't he.
