The previous tweet where he responded to someone who criticized his pants of choice was even more ridiculous. How can a sober rock star of 30 years tweet something like this?

I think if Richie is going somewhere "artistily" as he's saying, people would accept it whether they like his vision or not. But his recent performances show he's going nowhere in particular. :/

I don't do Twitter so had to check this out. Perfectly ok what he told that person imo. Basically said I will wear what I want, so fcuk off, but more politely. The man can wear what he wants.

Sure he can, but mature people don't respond to haters like that. He acted like a 21 year old pop star who just broke through.

If you go back and follow the interaction you'll see she is a big Richie fan and was defending him for wearing the red pants. She said she speaks Italian and used google translate and it didn't translate well. Someone told Richie he misunderstood and was mean to her and that's when he tweeted the "I wasn't mean" bit.

He's clearly super insecure and defensive about his new "artistic direction."

Yeah of all the "haters" out there, he managed to dig out one of his fans. It was a bit of mangles English with no malice on the girls part. He's been a horror story on Twitter from the get go.

Ha right. As I said I do not use Twitter so didn't know how to check the full conversation. Thanks for clearing it up.

Maybe he should hire Adele's management and have his tweets "signed off"!

Nah. Vince Neil got a pass on their tour, and Jon still has better pipes live than Neil ever had. Plus we can trust Jon knowing more than half the words

FYI, you guys have missed the very first episode of "The Red Pants Saga"

It all started here:
Quote:
But it wasn't just their singing that hit a flat note, with viewers also criticising the dress sense of 57-year-old Sambora, who wore 'offensive' bright red pants.
Then several Richie fans made fun of this and tweeted about not caring about the way he dresses, saying (paraphrasing): "you can wear red pants, blue pants, black pants, no pants, whatever you want, we still love your music".

Unfortunately Richie misunderstood one of those tweets. He obviously thought the girl hated him so much she even criticized the way he dressed that's why he replied so harshly in his first tweet (not reproduced here. He basically told her to stop texting him if she didn't like his music) -which was inappropriate, although understandable.

Then some fans told him he shouldn't have been so mean to her because she was only 14 yo and a fan trying to show him her support but since she's Italian and doesn't speak English very well, she used an online translator to tweet and was misunderstood, most likely because Richie hadn't seen the very first tweet mentioning his "offensive bright red pants" and thus missed the allusion.

He then tweeted again explaining he didn't get mean. And the Aussie press reproduced his tweet.

End of the Red Pants Saga.

Disclaimer: I'm not defending Richie, I think he shouldn't have tweeted at all, but I can understand he was pissed off.
