The 2012 shows weren't perfect, but at least we saw Richie who was motivated, sounded good and knew the songs.

Look, this performance is an improvement in comparison with earlier RSO LOAP performances of this year. This "no key change" is the only thing that didn't work, apart from that, everything else, soundwise, seems fine. What is very amateurish are the moves and the way they obviously are not sure of each other and that they are not going to f*ck up some part.

I was at the show last night. It was enjoyable but there is plenty of room for improvement.

Richie came storming out and did a good job getting a predominantly middle aged crowd going. There were technical issues throughout the show. Richie's guitar didn't work for the opener and he literally threw it at the guitar tech and carried on guitarless. The talkbox failed on Prayer but he improvised and used his wah wah pedal.

The band are improving but the drummer simply doesn't fit and hasn't got the feel for classic rock / hard rock music. There was also a lot more movement from the bass player who prowled the stage quite a lot.

Richie said several times that the band is a work in progress and that he's listening to the fans input which explains Stranger and seven years gone.

He definitely went down well with the audience but as a fan who knows what Richie can do I can't help but feel how much better he can be.

His voice is shot and he's on something but there's definitely a fire in his belly. Hopefully a steady run of shows will iron out the kinks.

Alcohol or drugs. Maybe both.

Seems the case.

He was bizarre in parts of the MTRBWY interview.

Sad, but you can usually tell when an artist is drugged up. I remember when we saw the Goo Goo Dolls they were so f-ed up it was almost unbearable to watch them. I would have considered myself a fan before I saw them.

You cannot make assertions on here like hahaha

He's off his trolley and has been for long and weary....the thirty year stag do has caught up.

Mid 90s he was boozed and coked up but he was on top of it.....he was functioning and had,on all accounts, a tolerance of sorts...I guess with time (and age) his health isn't what it was......hence the partying lifestyle seems to be impairing him from functioning anywhere near normally.

This is even more sad. Sounds like a half lousy cover band down at your local pub after one too many.
Looking back now, Richie's Europe Tour for Aftermath in 2012 was pretty great compared to this. I remember many people being critical even back then, but wow, the man has fallen drastically over the latest few years.
I can't stand Ori's voice. Her singing BVs plus an entire verse truly makes it sound like a college bar cover band.

If they are smart, they should ditch this 3 year in the making duo project and go back to being individual solo artists.
