This is what I love about this board though - I don't have the technical know-how to pick apart this stuff. Granted, I don't always want to - music isn't a science experiment and I think if you often know the ins and outs you concentrate on that rather than the feel of the song - which is sometimes why we have different opinions regarding the music, but I do learn a lot too.

I'm honestly paying attention.

No, actually I'm a guitar player and have learned to play the piano. But being in bands, recording them, mixing, etc. takes it's toll I guess

I found it strange too that nobody noticed or talked about it. That beat (at least for me) is quite essential to the feel of the song...

I'd say for Wanted the beat is pivotal - it's what makes the whole song right from the start and makes it one of the most recognisable pieces of music in the world.

Kind of worried a drummer could get something so iconic wrong.

That's why I was asking. It's not just *this* drummer, it's been that way at least since 2014 (and I believe even in some of Jon's KOS shows BTW). Maybe it's not so easy to play after all?

Just read this from someone at Cardiff tonight. Not sure how accurate it is but sounds very different from Leeds:

"No Sambora solo stuff, 4 Bon jovi songs and a few covers sung by Orianthi. Good sound but a bit of a karaoke fest on stage !"

Either Richie doesn't mind how it's played or he's oblivious to it. These new drummers seem to play the songs in their own styles without staying true to the originals. Maybe listening to Tico to play them flawlessly for decades has spoiled us

Yeah it was definitely played. Richie made quite an emotional speech in the middle about his dad dying and life moving on.

Wanted wasn't played.
