Yeah, he really does need an album out soon, and a good one at that.

I do think he regrets the way his leaving has most probably ruined any chance of him being "allowed" back in the band at some point in the future.

i also think richie handled the situation poorly. he should apologise for the way he didnt show up on a show day...and his excuse must have sounded insulting to his ex bandmates since they all have children and families..
since then he also made some poor choices and never admitted his faults. even his tweet congratulating maybe could be handled different and off the social media.
jon in a recent interview said their connected to the hip or sth similar since they wrote wanted together...when jon finds himself again and feels strong maybe he will reach out to richie to give the band a deserving ending, in a way jon always knew richie is a guy with certain weaknesses and in some extend i think he aknowledges he took the fun out of the band and the creativity by overworking them

Bitter or sad/disappointed?

At least in 2016 he finally admitted he was burnt out vs in 2013/14 when he insisted he wasn't at all. 3 years ago, he was in complete denial but now he seems to be seeing things more clearly but he still has a lot of homework left to do to be back on track and stay there, which is the most important step.

As for "his" (fire the intern!) tweets, his social media pages have always been clumsy and chaotic, I think that some people make too much of them. For our generation (Richie's, Jon's, mine), tweets and FB comments are like the trivial things you say to the strangers you meet in a bar and never see again. Just sayin'!

Someone tweeted Richie over the weekend saying that he was "A great guitarist, but up his own arse". Richie replied "Suck it". Not very professional admittedly, but it made me laugh and it's a natural reaction to someone being blatantly rude to you! So I'm pretty sure he does at least post some of his own stuff, it's not all a PR team. I'm not really sure that he really gets how it all works though. Let's be fair, my mum is the same age as Richie and she would be clueless on Twitter. I know, he should take more responsibility and figure it all being in the spot light, but I you can't always teach and old dog new tricks...maybe he should just step away from Twitter...

His age is no excuse at all.

The "suck it" comment made me laugh too. But more at him, not with him.

Retweeted people saying "No Richie = No Bon Jovi" and "I can't even listen to the stuff they (Bon Jovi) put out now without Richie" is just childish and shows how bitter he is.

Sorry but if someone tweeted that to me I would probably respond the same way. Celebrity at not, if someone is rude to you, in my book you are totally allowed to be rude back. James Blunt gets a lot of negative tweets but reacts to them brilliantly, albeit more cleverly than Richie.

The Bon Jovi related retweets are weird....agreed. Maybe he is bitter, I don't know. He certainly doesn't come across that way when talking about Bon Jovi in interviews or at shows though.

I don't see why he would regret the split though. He's his own boss now, doing what he wants, with his girlfriend. Maybe he misses the pay check or has regrets over the way he handled it, but that's not what the retweets suggest to me. If he wanted to make amends that's not the way to do it and I'm sure he could easily offer and olive branch to Jon if he really wanted to, but I really don't think he does at all...

I think Richie thought he could get enough time between album and tour to make their own albums and live your life, and then reactivate the band together, but Jon no stop as other bands makes.

I think Richie would like to be part of both worlds, Jovi and have time to make solo albums, but he can not with the calendar that marks Jon.

The "suck it" thing is not the issue. He reacted like a lot of people would.

As for being bitter, I certainly get that vibe from him having watched interviews. And the Jovi related retweets back that up for me.

No doubt he wants to be his own boss, which is perfectly fine. But let's not forget since he bailed on the band, Jon has stated he doesn't feel there's a way back for Richie.

It's one thing wanting a break, but to find out it became permanent without your own say in the matter, is a whole different thing.

Richie replying to a negative tweet with "suck it" is hilarious. Stop being so f*cking pompous and boring with the "unprofessional" comments.
