I really think RS has wasted a great opportunity since quitting the band. He craves credibility and wants the spotlight to shine on him, yet serves up poorly rehearsed, chaotic performances. Why??

He's still got a good voice. That's the main ingredient if you're wanting to step out of someone's shadow and be taken seriously as a solo singer. But apart from the odd performance, it's been a disaster. Total wasted opportunity to gain some deserved recognition.

I know this is tour "2016" but not sure where to put any info for 2017. Just been a few appearances at charities mainly, so admins please put this where you feel it should go.

I missed the show but know that AXS tv will reair most programs multiple times and there are links on AXS tv page (if you pay to watch)

Gear up for the Season Finale of Rock & Roll Road Trip as Sammy Hagar heads West to LA! Sammy joins his good friend Adam Levine of Maroon 5 as they hit the road in Adam’s Ferrari. Then, Richie Sambora stops by Conway Recording Studios for an intimate performance with Adam and Sammy! All of this and more on Rock & Roll Road Trip Sunday, August 13th at 9/8c!

Even though the promo mentions Richie it was RSO.

My friend sent me a link to that, but I've been too sick to watch it yet. She said Richie didn't sing or talk. I can't muster up the energy to watch it. I'm not a fan of Adam Levine anyway.

Well, that alone should have made you feel a little bit better! "Must sound good from where you are..."

All kidding aside, I'm sorry to hear that you've been sick. I hope you're on the mend now.

This may or may not be the same clip your friend sent; but it's worth watching, if for no other reason than to hear the way Adam nails "... with some other guy you knew before"! And Sammy's just Sammy, as always. I love that guy! He has to be one of the coolest guys in rock music.

Fair warning, though: Richie actually does talk and sing. (But it's just a little itty bit...) Here's the clip:

Thanks for the well wishes. Been back to work two weeks, exposed to kids 4 days and spent yesterday hooked to an IV getting fluids. Kids are Petri dishes for disease!

My point in posting was that it's out there for free and since I was told Richie didn't sing or talk in the video was that anyone who wanted to see it should look for it for free rather than paying for it. I don't think that was clear. I'm not sure anything is right now.

I feel ya on the kids thing. I was sick nearly the entire semester; and that doesn't even include not being able to get home and see family for Thanksgiving (sinus infection), Christmas (probably from the ongoing infection and exposure), AND my grandniece's first birthday party (bronchitis and laryngitis). And isn't it funny how it never seems to take the little "carriers" nearly as long to recover? That's one of the main reasons I decided to take early retirement. I'm getting too old for this sh:t! Literally!!

I was just giving you a hard time about Richie; and I went ahead and posted the link so ppl wouldn't have to look it up, since I already had it and it was handy.

Yes he's wasted an opportunity for sure, but part of me thinks he doesn't really care about credibility, etc, anymore, in the sense that he's just having fun and doing what he wants. After 30 years in the Bon Jovi machine I think he's probably just enjoying the freedom...

You're welcome. Adam's not usually even on my radar, but he totally nailed the high notes. He wasn't quite as effective in the 2nd vs but, man, that first one gave my goose bumps goose bumps! I might have to listen to more of him.

I know a lot of ppl preferred David Lee Roth over Sammy, but I just don't get it. I'd take Sammy any day. And I agree with what you said about him and Richie. I wouldn't mind seeing them form a supergroup.

('Course, my real preference would be to see Jon and Richie put their own "super" group back together, under the right circumstances. But if wishes were horses, beggars would ride.)

Just chiming in to say I prefer Sammy to DLR too. When I think of VH, I tend to think more of the songs Sammy sang. I don't dislike DLR. Just stating a preference.

I think Richie does care about credibility. He's always been the first guy in the band to spout out numbers like sales and countries played. He was on a local station in Jackson promoting Crush and was very quick to tell the DJ that every album the band had made since SWW had sold at least 10 million copies.

Maybe he thinks This RSO album will bring him more credibility since he's working with another well known guitarist and all the potential guests that may pop up. I hope it brings him happiness and whatever he is searching for.
