Not that I expected a heartfelt letter to each city's cancelled show but just swapping out the city name for each "sorry for cancelling" really bugs me.

Ok, he may be genuinely sick, which sucks and I hope he gets better soon.

But

following a couple months of promotion for his recently released solo album Aftermath of the Lowdown, which included a run of sold-out shows in Europe..
makes it sound likes he's had a gruelling tour and has been singing every night, not just the 5 or 6 shows he has done. Nice bit of spin on that!

So how did he actually sound last night in London? Any signs of problems?

He sounded fantastic in London which is why its such a shock that the next day he has laryngitis but whatever the cause, its really bad for the fans and for Richie. Let's hope he can have the time to reschedule the shows and they don't get squashed down by the bands plans.

Yeah, I hope the Bon Jovi juggernaut doesn't roll all over his plans.. but it is only a handful of shows still to go, I am sure he can squeeze them in.. he seems to be enjoying it so much, yesterday on a BBC radio interview he said he wished he could do more of it.

Aloha !

It's low ticket sales, the same happened in 1998 when a full tour was planned yet cancelled after it turned out he'd never be able to make a profit on an American tour. My bet is the shows will be postponed and then cancelled due to "the Bon Jovi rollercoaster starting again".

Toronto's announcement was edited to:

ANNOUUNCEMENT!!

RICHIE SAMBORA'S TORONTO SHOW CANCELLED

Richie Sambora's upcoming concert in Toronto at the Danforth Music Hall on October 20th is being cancelled at the direction of his doctors. Tickets can be refunded at the point of purchase.

Richie unfortunately had to cancel this performance due to doctor’s orders that he go on full vocal rest, as he is suffering from a case of laryngitis following a couple months of promotion for his recently released solo album Aftermath of the Lowdown, which included a run of sold-out shows in Europe. He is incredibly disappointed to not be able to perform for his fans this month.

"I was really looking forward to getting out there and playing my new record for people.” Sambora said. “Unfortunately, things come up in life that you cannot control. I hope my fans will understand.”

-------

From postponed to flat out cancelled.

Was really looking forward to Philly. Honestly though, part of me was thinking I can't believe these American shows are selling. I'm a fan...but man when I tell people I am going to see Sambora solo I get laughed out of the room! Totally sucks! Really wanted to him. oh well...youtube vids from overseas shows are all I have now! lol
