Yeah, thats the part that gives me pause ... but it is what he said. I dunno, maybe he just means they're playing them all as one 'leg' as it were

Exclamation **the frustration and confusion continues...

Things are looking more and more confusing the longer this goes on...today, on the aussie Today show, Richard Wilkins responded to emails re: Richie's comments 4 days ago in that interview re: coming to Oz...He
says that Richie DID NOT say in the interview that they were touring
Australia and also that the interviewer made a lot of mistakes in the
interview. [posted at BJDU today]

At the moment what we know/have been told is this:
*1 - there is a tour promoter still working on getting them here,
*2 - someone else has word that the same tour promoter is NOT working on getting Jovi here
*3 - we are waiting on a response from Universal Australia
*4 - someone else here who has a solid contact with Universal Australia has contacted them today, had a lenghty chat - this contact is now trying to speak to someone with the proper information and will get back to us asap with something of true/factual substance [even if it is a no]
...and so the rollercoaster of confusion and frustration goes on....

For ppl o/s who are sick of us [we are 'sick' of this more than anyone else guys], is it any wonder the aussie fan base has been all over the shop about this whole thing...one thing to say 'well, we'll get a petition together and see if we can't make a difference'...another thing to do that, and have fired of 100's and 100's of emails AND get this massively conflicting information. So, if we nark any of you, peeve you, downright annoy any of you, please cut us some slack...you have NO idea how frustrating this has all become.

As soon as I hear anything of substance, especially from Universal Oz, I'll post it here, for the fellow aussie DC members.

simply cause I do not see BJ being able to sell out stadiums here
If it makes them come i'll buy every damn ticket in the house; Here I am, among with many other aussies, feeling left out because everybody here are posting topics about their thoughts on the concert they went to, as if they're actually known to the band.

ColdPlay IS real music, i don't like them much but they're real music.

Exclamation **further update for aussie DC members**

Morning guys...still no word from Universal Oz...however, this email came back to a fellow member of BJDU yesterday....I am more of the opinion that what it confirms is that Richie did indeed say Australia...it remains to be seen if that ACTUALLY means they ARE coming...Universal Oz is attempting to speak to someone at BJM to get a definitive yes or no on coming, not whether Richie mentioned Oz for sure in the interview...soon as we get a response back to us, I will post it here.

S.

I just received this email from Robyn Young, the reporter who did the
interview with Richie [20/01/06].Its not a huge help, but it does confirm that
Richie definately said they are coming.

Hi *******

Richie Sambora did not offer any dates in his interview. He just
mentioned they
will be playing in Europe, Australia, and Japan.

Does the band have a touring website? Maybe you could check that
occasionally
and see what they have planned. I wish I could be more helpful on this
question.

Thanks for your inquiry,

Robyn Young

Shaz, I posted the link to the Richie video you are talking about, re playing Australia, on the Buffalo thread last weekend. I also have a copy of the video. The lead promoter, AEG Live, also said BJovi would play Australia on this Tour. There is just nothing official right now.

Promoter's don't get too far out on a Tour's advanced bookings anymore. They like to take it in steps, and look at the financial bottom line after each smaller leg. But the HAND Tour is very successful and Down-Under has been a very strong market for bands like Bon Jovi, so they will get there, I'm sure.

PS: Thanks for your post to me on the Oklahoma City thread, and the story of your husband getting hooked on BJovi after his first concert. Great post, I appreciated it. My girl friend and I are going to see two more concert’s on this Tour, and maybe three.

Be well........

Default ** from Q&A at BJ.com**

Question:
Richie mentioned in an interview that they would be doing 10 shows in
Japan and Australia - Is there any idea as to when some sort of
confirmation will be announced? As this information has come directly
from Richie, should we believe that it is true? Thanks
asked by OzJovi24 on Thursday, January 26, 2006
Answer:
You can choose to believe anything you like. When there is official
confirmed information it will be posted by the artist on the official
label website. Getting everyone all wound up (either negative or
positive) is pointless. Inevitably, if it comes to pass someone
withheld info. If it doesn't happen, someone is branded a liar. With
expectations so high and posts on this websites message board taking
up an air of desperation, it's understandable that shred of
information will be held up as confirmation... our best
recommendation would be to sit back and relax and what will be will
be, without demanding information.

This leaves the same Q's unanswered...and I can vouch, 100%, that no member of BJDU [the home of the Bonjovidownunder Petition] have ever demanded anything [can't speak for every aussie, but I can for that group]....'what will be, will be"...I feel like breaking out into Doris Day's "Que sera, sera"
