I enjoyed hearing Richie's take on "These
Days" but it's just not the same to me as hearing Jon
do it. While "once in a while" would be okay, I do
hope that they don't have him do the song every time
now. I had adopted "These Days" as my favorite to
hear live---after they gave "I'll Be There For You" to
Richie.

Richie's version is a nice take on the song I suppose.
Jon's the storyteller though, I guess that's the
bottom line for me.

No you are not. I think Richie does a nice job but I'd rather hear Jon sing it.

richie's performance with these days during the first night is a million times better then any jon performance of that song I've seen. I always say richie is a much better singer then jon, thats why I never say richie is my favorite guitar player, but my favorite "musician". But jon is a better frontman (just watch any 80's performance).

i'm just glad that we get a chance to hear richie sing any song

I enjoy Jon and Richie both quite a lot for what they do best! Richie's the best guitarist in the outfit, no doubt. Jon's the singer/storyteller.

I never did get to see the band live until 2003. I was a fan, but I didn't get to concerts as I was a student (and very poor!) So, I've never had the pleasure of hearing Jon do IBTFY in person, in its proper form. I did get to hear "These Days" last summer, which was nice. I'm glad I was able to hear that before it was handed over.

What I think would really be nice is for Richie to do different songs from night to night and really "switch things up a bit."

Hey, it's okay for us to disagree on the part about it being a million times better than any of Jon's performances on that song. I really seriously do disagree, but it's all a matter of preference.

I do FULLY agree with you on the last part. It's nice to hear Richie sing a song.

So, someone wanting to hear Jon Bon Jovi sing a BON JOVI song is automatically a Backstage sheep?

Anyway, I liked Richie's version of TD.
It fit his vocal style quite well, and he nailed the guitar solo.

Don't worry Brian, Seb has a habit of stalking my posts and calling me a backstager merely because I have a positive opinion. That's genuinely how I feel and he just can't seem to accept it.
