The fact is Richie has burned a lot of his fan base, because let's face it no-one knows who he is without Bon Jovi. Likely most of those who would have gone and seen a solo show still will anyway, but some definitely won't. That said I'm sure he has enough dedicated fans to still sell out smaller venues in Europe.

As it stands he only played London in the UK last time and a Richie show to me just wasn't worth the travelling effort and costs like I would a band show. This time I wouldn't go even if it was my local bar. But I'm sure those that do go will enjoy it.

This is your own fault. You could get your money back, it was YOUR decision not to take the offer. So don't blame someone else than yourself.

Yeah, according to the band's site you could get your money back. I'm still waiting for my money though. And from reading about other fans in other countries than Germany and the U.K., I'm not the only one who didn't get a refund, so this refund talk is nice, but once they realized how many people actually wanted one, they stopped offering it altogether.

As for this tour; it's him playing festivals with some small solo shows in big cities, like schlochty said. I'm curious as to what'll happen in Holland. There are a few great festivals here with the Stones and Metallica headlining, and then there was him playing for 2.500 people a few years ago. He's able to reach a bigger audience at a festival though but I doubt many will care.

Personally, I'm not sure if I'd go. I'd certainly not go if it'd be on a festival I haven't got a ticket for, and can't see myself arsed to spend 100E in total to see his current act. None of that's got anything to do with me being angry about the last tour, but mostly with how average his current playing and singing is.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

Isn't JUNE one of THE festival months? Rock am Ring, Rock im Park, Werchter, Download, Hurricane...plenty. Could easily see him do a few festival gigs.
Rock im Park would be perfect since I have a tickets for this festival anyway and this probably would be the only chance for me to see him in June since I already have tickets for 4 shows plus Rock im Park in June.

But the sale for his 2012-tour also was quite short termed and the shows got sold out.

There is one thing that I dont understand with this Richie situation. Fans love this guy for 30 years, admire him for his music with Bon Jovi and then he made one mistake and the whole love disappeared.
And the one thing I know, is that I'm not that kind of fan.

Errr, no actually. When you pay a commitment to hotels in advance and advance train tickets that cannot be refunded then you have no choice but to go. Do i suggest you get off your high horse and look at the big picture. In comparison to people in the states that bought tickets and were let down - people probably bought flights worth $100s

Erm, wasn't this the third mistake?

The thing that I don't understand is that people genuinely love and admire a guy like Richie Sambora. He's not stood out on any tour since 2003 and has pretty much zoned out for 10 years. He then gets sober for the first time in a decade, starts trashing the band he's been part of for said 30 years, leaves a tour and creates one disappointment after the other. What's there to admire?

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

That's the part where he lost me completely.

And that's all I ever admired, don't really feel his solo stuff - except Seven Years Gone is an epic track.
