Why would the key-changed vocals be sampled anyways... I mean Jon doesn't even sing most of it... right? He always pulls away from the mic.

He can't sing it anymore - that's how he almost blew out his vocal cords back in the 80's.

Sorry - all vocals except Jon's for the lower line of the chorus after the key change although he's been struggling with even this over the last 2 years (at least from some of the DVD's I've seen - Borgata 2004 and Amsterdam 2005).

Shame.

Same goes for the talk box in OWN, don't remember seeing richie using it live...

That's cos, as far as I can recall, the talk-box was only used on OWN 2001 and not on the 'Crush' release, which is the one they always played live - in fact most of the OWN 2001 track was samples and digital crap! I can't stand it for this very reason!
