Default Ripping off the Aussie fans

First of all i'm a jovi hardcore fan just like everybody else in here.

But i can't believe that people have been complaining about the set lists day in and out but nobody really gives a toss about the way the band is slugging it's hardcore fans.

What a complete joke.Tickets ranging from 99 on top of the rafters to 299 dollars to be near the front.Well done Jon.Now you can tell us all how tough life is during Love's The Only Rule or maybe we can listen to that song that obviously has no meaning to you...Work For The Working Man.

Then you have the so called packages.1300 buks for a laminate , Tour Programme and a leather chair. You can also throw in a drink or 2.

I can't believe how delusional people are and are paying incredible amounts of money for this PHONEY because that's what this band has become.

Obviously the set lists are more important than slugging your fans hundreds of dollars to see a gig.

Before i finish i'd like to say this.

In 2008 Bj Toured australia with ticket prices starting at 99-199 dollars.

In 2010 they are starting at 99-299 dollars.Except this time around they have a circle of idiots who wish to pay hundreds of dollars or thousands. That's why there is a circle and a package because of the morons out there that pay this sort of money.

Am i pissed off you bet.No entertainer deserves 300 bucks no matter who they are.

ACDC had a production that would blow Bon Jovi's stage show to pieces and they charged 99-149 aus dollars. They sold out 3 shows.

Jon Bon Jovi and co.....................**** YOU

You can't imagine how much I complained about the ticket prices re the O2 (and even previous ones/other events!). You are not alone. I did end up getting several tickets and I wish I had been stronger and done only a few shows but since the concerts were literally round the corner from my house and didn't have any other expenses and found some good people who offered me tickets less than half price, then I did a few more.

I tried to show my disgust towards this 1st by not renewing my Backstage card/membership (although I fear I'll renew for next summer).

Some people have received surveys about recent shows/tickets/etc and have stated how expensive the tickets were and explained we *hardcore* fans are not keen on any sort of packages just concerts with reasonable ticket prices. I hope they pay attention to them in a way but I doubt it.

I don't think it's very fair to start attacking the people who bought the expensive tickets. And yes, I was one of those 'morons' who bought one of the packages for the o2. How I choose to spend my hard earned money is my business, regardless of ticket prices. Everybody has been upset about ticket prices right from the start, but it was hardly going to get any better at this point in the tour - they could hardly charge extortionate amounts for the first leg of the tour and then lower the price dramatically for everybody else. We all know that they had to give out free tickets for the last couple of o2 shows, which is a reflection of the prices. There are always going to VIP packages offered, and it is up to the fans if they feel they are worth the money. I can safely say that I had an excellent time in the pit, and I am glad I paid that bit extra. But, I also had seats in the nosebleeds for £50 and had a brilliant time. At the end of the day, you can enjoy the music wherever you are seated, I have no problem with being at the back and up the top. But a concert is what you make of it. This ticket row is going to go round and round and round. I'm not defending the band, and I think the prices have been ridiculous, but it's not fair to start attacking the fans.

This isnt new as everyone was up in arms at The O2 prices as they were pretty rotten for the most part. If the prices are that high, then follow our lead from The O2 shows and wait until the last minute- they will either sell them cheaper directly, or there will be cheaper available on Ebay as these expensive tickets leaves the touts struggling to make a profit.

The fans made their voices heard about The O2 gigs prices as there was plenty of negative publicity, it remains to be seen whether this will have any affect. Sadly it hasnt for the Australian gigs.

Feeling a bit silly about it, knowing you could have stood maybe 5 metres further back for 1/10th of the cost?

1) No one attacked you personally

2) How you choose to spend your hard earned money *does* affect other people. If *no one* was prepared to pay £1000 for a seat, then *no seats* would cost as much as £1000. You are raising the prices for everyone else.

3) A diamond ring package for Bon Jovi in Australia costs more than an actual diamond ring. If you think that that at all is fair or makes sense, then that *is* moronic. (Though I'm sure you're a good person and your mother loves you).

So - you're saying it's better for them to pretend they haven't ripped people off than to actually do something about it?

Of course they could charge a lower price. The only reason they don't is greed. Full stop.

Why? Iron Maiden doesn't offer VIP packages. Bruce Springsteen doesn't offer VIP packages. Why are Bon Jovi *always* going to offer them?

They aren't.

That "bit" extra is a week's wages for many, many people ("the working man"). A seat-only in the pit at the o2 was. what, £350?

Did you have 7x (maybe even 20x) as good a time in the pit as you did in the nosebleeds.

If not, that is at best poor judgement.

If you did pay £1000+ for a single concert, I hand on heart believe that is immoral. Genuinely selfish to the point that it offends me (that may be my problem. If you can't think of anything more beneficial to do with that money, i really despair.

I will make an exception if you gave more to charity last year than you spent on a Bon Jovi show.

Blimey, you can't have an opinion in this place on anything without every single word being picked on. I'm not going to waste time justifying myself, I just don't see the point in countless arguments about the same topic. No, I didn't spend over £1000 on one concert - far from it!!I'm not quite sure where you got that from. I would never spend that much. Yes, I bought one pit ticket because just for once when I had a bit of extra money, I decided to spend it on something I enjoy. And no, I don't feel at all silly about it, and why should I? But like I said, whatever I say is going to get picked on.

Absolutely, i'm a firm believer in the cheap seats being just that. Far more casuals will buy a ticket if it's cheap despite being in the nosebleeds. There are plenty of bands I have seen mainly thanks to decent cheap seats- U2 a prime example- the cheapest tix were fine for me to experience them for a first time and left me with a good impression. If jovi don't recognise that they wi struggle to attract new fans to their gigs
