Feeling a bit silly about it, knowing you could have stood maybe 5 metres further back for 1/10th of the cost?

1) No one attacked you personally
2) How you choose to spend your hard earned money *does* affect other people. If *no one* was prepared to pay £1000 for a seat, then *no seats* would cost as much as £1000. You are raising the prices for everyone else.
3) A diamond ring package for Bon Jovi in Australia costs more than an actual diamond ring. If you think that that at all is fair or makes sense, then that *is* moronic. (Though I'm sure you're a good person and your mother loves you).

So - you're saying it's better for them to pretend they haven't ripped people off than to actually do something about it?
Of course they could charge a lower price. The only reason they don't is greed. Full stop.

Why? Iron Maiden doesn't offer VIP packages. Bruce Springsteen doesn't offer VIP packages. Why are Bon Jovi *always* going to offer them?

They aren't.

That "bit" extra is a week's wages for many, many people ("the working man"). A seat-only in the pit at the o2 was. what, £350?
Did you have 7x (maybe even 20x) as good a time in the pit as you did in the nosebleeds.
If not, that is at best poor judgement.
If you did pay £1000+ for a single concert, I hand on heart believe that is immoral. Genuinely selfish to the point that it offends me (that may be
my problem. If you can't think of anything more beneficial to do with that money, i really despair.

It is.
