I'm guessing these overpriced events are a way to keep the "platinum" fans happy. Jon definitely doesn't need the money but he's clever enough to keep the cash cow turning over some kind of profit every so often.

I feel sorry for the fans out there that genuinely want to go to it but can't afford it. It must sting a little.
Sure he does - to buy an NFL team.

Lack of funds is what shut him out of the Buffalo Bills ownership.

Limiting the ones who can go by charging absurd prices is the exactly the point. They should offer it via lottery or first come first serve if the argument is that they need to limit the number.

The opportunity should be available to all regardless of financial status if Jon wants everyone to believe they're a fan's band who sings about the tough times in today's economy. These events scream hypocrisy. Just because some are willing to rack up credit card debt in order to attend doesn't justify the greediness of the prices.

Was Jon using all his own money though? I imagine he'd have got backing from from other parties. He's not going to pump all of his personal wealth into buying an NFL team.

For the franchise fee, he could not have borrowed more than 20 per cent of his share. In addition, eighty per cent of the fee was required to be in cash, which means Jon would have had to "pump in all of his personal wealth!"

Is this stream for the fan club event or a different private event?
