First of all, this is not a joke. It's just only a rumor. Actually I'm in contact with the promoters, and that's what they told me. Any chance it will happen? Probably no, but they are trying.

And...

I don't care if Bon Jovi will not play there or even if they insult the entire scene. Any person with a brain will tell you Bon Jovi was the best-known Hair Metal band. It's a fact.

They need to embrace their roots and play in this festival. There's nothing to be ashamed of.

They should do it, especially if the rumors about the new riff record are true!

It is a hair metal festival, with about 6 lesser known bands for every 1 well known band. Like, Britny Fox, Faster Pussycat, Dangerous Toys, etc just to get Twisted Sister there.

Sure it is. The entire rumor thing is a joke. Bon Jovi choosing not to play this festival is not insulting the entire scene. They have done bigger things to insult other hair bands or scene--if you can still call it that. Yes, they might be synonomous with hair bands but today those that still call them and refer to them as a hair band are largely wither critics, people who hate them and those who are only interested in nostalgia.

This coming from someone who can only add one thing and one thing only to any conversation...

Wouldn't really have ever considered bonjovi to be a metal band at all, not even in their earlier days.....
