The same thing will happen with the new album. It will be 12 average songs, with short solos in 3/4 of them and none in the rest . With Phil X on-board Bon Jovi should be making a guitar orientated rock album not the utter dirge THINFS was.

I remember Phil in an interview saying that it wasn't until very late in the process that the decision was made to have Phil be part of the record and then later have him and Hugh be part of the album artwork and on official photos making them "official members" I guess. But THINFS was pretty much a done record by the time Phil got involved. I wish I could remember the exact interview but he mentioned how Jon picked 4 songs he thought could use more guitar and he laid them down in a day or so.
That looks to change, Phil will be more present in the studio laying down guitar parts but the writing will still be JBJ and Shanks...
