Default sandy relief was actually quite good !

I didnt really watch it again ever since it aired live on the 12th of December. It's actually quite good and Jon nails it !

A friend of mine told me that she hated Jon's voice there. She's not a fan so maybe isn't used to the "new voice".

I like the iHeart more than this one.

I've listened to the bootleg of this show quite a lot since it came out, in particular the Bruce/Jon duets and the Bon Jovi set. I was really impressed, given Jon was coming off the back of some horrific performances (iheart in particular) he totally nailed it and sounded as good as i've heard him in recent years.

I maintain their set was as strong as any of the other acts. Held their own well against critically adored heavyweights.

I thought Bon Jovi was great that night. Jovi, Springsteen, and Billy Joel are the 3 performances that have stayed with me from 12-12-12.

Stones were great too, but their set was so short!

Any particular reason why? Jon's voice was in much better shape during the Sandy Relief show. iHeart was painful to listen to in my opinion.

I think Jon and the band did so well because they 1) had competition from other more popular/interesting acts and 2) had something to prove to an audience that wasn't made up of their fans. They can bring it when they have to but usually the stakes aren't so high. According to other comments on this forum this is why they supposedly are better in Europe--they can't get away with crap in Europe

I don't know, maybe because that one was first and I was more hyped. Who knows. I really liked the Wanted Dead or Alive of the iHeart with Richie singing.

I said it then and I will say it again:

They were one of the few acts who had the whole place up singing, moving, bobbing what ever you want to call it and the singing of Prayer was very very loud, the loudest crowd participation of the night. Jon's voice was good plus he moved a lot!! So 2 months on shows he has some sort of issue, either physically in the injury sense or mentally in not wanting to move around and forgetting the words.
