The last say about the tickets incl.prices has the promoter. Best example Germany last year which was the only country where the promoter refuses from the Golden Circle tickets. The management of BJ wanted them, Ossy Hoppe didn't, and there were no GC-tix here.

As i recall, the HAND tour was AEG's first foray into this market. I'm guessing they did it for less than some of the more seasoned promotion companies, just so they could get in the market. The tour went well, Jon was pleased with how they marketed and promoted it. But you can bet the bank that AEG watched and saw the ridiculous prices on ebay and other places that brokers were getting for tickets. And that people were paying it to see shows. I think the Jersey shows may be a way of testing the market for what they can get regularly out on tour. We'll have to see how it goes.

No? I would seriously consider it! Where do I sign up?

With reference to what Sambo-Chris said, all that shows is AEG dictating what types of tickets go on sale and, if your point was aimed at defending the band against the ridiculous ticket prices, you kinda shot yourself in the foot. Saying that the band WANTED gold circle ticketing but the promoters didn't kinda infers that Jovi wanted to milk as much money from the show as they could get but couldn't because the promoter didn't want to produce GC tickets.

Yes, that's what Ossy Hoppe said to me before tix went on sale for last year. They sold GC-tickets in countries that never had GC-tickets before.

The cost sucks. Over here, we...well me anyway, are becoming a bit desensitized to it all. [which doesn't mean I pay the cost cause I'm numb to it...I REFUSE to pay over A$150-160...don't care who it is]
Below are the prices of tickets to The Eagles gigs here in 2004! And all the shows sold out. [not a stadium tour...arenas]
Until people stop buying tickets at this price [and I don't think that's really going to happen any time soon], prices won't go down...just up.

The Eagles - Australian Tour 2004
Ticket Prices (inc. GST):
ADULT [A$]
Diamond $554.40
Gold $224.40
Silver $136.40
Bronze $92.40

I'd hate to even speculate what Jovi's "Farewell Tour" will go for at Ticketmaster let alone before all the tout scum get hold of them. I think the "Farewell Tour" is almost a certainty to be honest given the amount of money that could be made off of it, i.e. they'll actually announce it as such in advance rather than just announcing it at the last show or a few months after the tour has finished.
