Thumbs up

The good thing is that after shows like that have shown a significant improvement, that's got to boost Jon's confidence...but yeah, I guess we'll see what happens next...

So, a friend told me that after the gig they talked to Matt and he told them that Jon wanted to play another song for us because of the crowd but that he couldn't because of his voice.

Maybe ezearis can confirm that
Yes, back in 2010 there was a judiciary issue because the neighbors of Belgrano said that the vibrations from the River Plate stadium damaged the buildings. That got sorted out by 2011. In 2013 and 2017 the concerts were in Vélez.

I feel like these two S.America shows are definitely a step up from the first N.America shows. A lot of debate is still going on about Jon's voice and I've learned to agree with the fact that it's simply shot (his mental well-being most likely also adding to it). I'd also like to just throw in my two cents about his lack of mobility. In my opinion it might just simply be about lacking the energy. He is 55, he's aged really gracefully but maybe these past three years just hit him physically to the point to which he doesn't anymore want to jump about and stuff. Jon looks pretty exhausted at the end of shows these days. If he'd give as much energy as he had in 2011 or what not he would last about 10-15 songs as singing also absorbs a lot of energy.
Just wanted to give me two cents about this whole thing. I'm really hoping that they can do an European tour, which will happen unless something goes wrong with this tour at the moment. I'd still be happy to see them just to see them play some of the songs that mean so much to me.

Personally, I don't think it's a physical issue, Jon has always kept himself physically fit and I'm sure that he still does. I think the reasons that he seems so drained by the end of the show is because he's having to put so much effort into his singing, which is also why he doesn't move around much, and by the end of the show it's taken so much out of him. But I don't get why he does that, as he seems to sound better when he is relaxed and moving around more...it's very bizarre to me....

Glad everyone who went had a great time. From what I can tell, I'm not sure there is any appreciable difference between the performance in the last two shows and the North American tour. The band sounds great and Jon struggles at times. Just a big difference in the crowds in South America.

This is true. When he gets loose is when he sings better. Really weird.

It just goes to show you how much pain or the precautions Jon needs to take to preserve what's left of his voice... The fact that he could not do another song speaks volumes...

Confidence plays a small part in it but the issue is much bigger... This guy is in pain... This explains the long breaks between legs and even between gigs... Like I said prior, if he wants to stretch the tour out over two years, so be it... I don't think it will delay any new material for a new album...

Better than I expected. I remember hearing These Days at Hyde Park in 2003 and be struggled big time back then. I think his vocals have always been up and down.

People quoting the bad medecine video as if it's unbelievably rock n roll?

The transition between captain crash and bad medicine was so boring and awkward.

mumbling through "are you still with me out there?" and "is there a doctor in the house" is almost pathetic to watch.

Now, don't get me wrong - the crowd seemed so into it. But I've been in atmosphere's where it's the crowd, not the band, that sets the temperature and dynamic of the room. Put 40k people who all love the same thing into a stadium and then on top of that, make them crazy South Americans - of course the energy would be electric and I would have loved to have been there. But man, that was downright awful - Jon just has lost it.
