We're not just fanboys making this all up... here is yet another review of someone having an amazing time at a Bon Jovi concert in 2017... I think people making decisions not to attend shows based on the three YouTube videos you watched of your favorite songs is a shitty decision... Listen to the fans instead... It's not 1995 anymore, these guys are now in their mid 50s to 60s but it's still better than most acts out there today... This I guarantee

You make it sound like the way you see it is the truth, yet it isn't. It's ok for you that the live settings are enough to distract from all the flaws and that you enjoy it. That's fine. But they're still blatantly obvious when being there. Hell, even in 2013 I heard so many flaws while attending the shows in Munich, Stuttgart and Cologne in person. You don't notice all that you might find on a video later on, but even then this couldn't go unnoticed.
And the statement that they're still better than most acts out there is just a fanboy's point of view. For that you either only go to washed up acts that had their prime over 30 years ago or you simply don't listen to anything else but Bon Jovi. I guess in the last 2 or 3 years alone I've seen between 10 and 15 acts whose live shows were far superior, even if they didn't play the big stadiums.
Not better than Bon Jovi at their peak or on good days the past decade, but certainly lightyears better than the Bon Jovi of 2017.

Being excited about a show and having a great time is all well and good, and those reviews are completely valid, but that doesn't mean everyone will. Those that get caught up in the excitement absolutely have valid reviews, but it doesn't change the fact for most that Jon's voice is mostly pretty bad, his performance as a front man is somewhat lacking, and as good as the band sound, it just isn't the Bon Jovi that we know and love! Whether you are there in person or watching it on YouTube that isn't going to change for some....
There are only a few songs you actually notice he "can't sing". Then, there, you don't notice. I don't know if it was that the crowd was extremely loud or what but that's the truth. Also, I told you there are some songs that he really sings like BoR. I went thinking it was going to be a piece of shit, but the band was on fire and had an amazing time.

Also, Phil ****ed up on These Days. Jon's face was priceless.

I don't need to. I know what I want when I go to see a Bon Jovi show. I know 100% that in 2017 I'm not going to get that so there is no point. I'm not saying that there isn't things that would be enjoyable about that show, and I'm not saying that other people shouldn't enjoy it. I'm just saying that for the most part, I wouldn't. That's my opinion and I'm entitled to it. Just as you are yours....

You absolutely are... However I am stating a FACT that what you hear on YouTube and what you hear being at a show live are two different things... And if you are a fan who is on the fence about attending shows because of what you hear on YouTube, I'm giving my feedback and advice, telling you that it's worth it...

The way I see it is the truth...

Now, I can't speak for every band out there today but quick story...I'm a huge Queen fan and couldn't wait to see Queen and Lambert this past summer... The show was fantastic. Lambert's vocals were amazing, the band was on fire, the stage show with the lights, costume changes, props were right on but I still walked away with a bit of disappointment. It was a perfect show and I would definitely go again and even recommend it, however there was still a disconnect... I don't know why, I can't pin point it, but that's how I felt... I didn't walk out of there with that feeling of fulfillment or excitement...

Now even though Bon Jovi is a knocked down version of what it once was, Jon still brings something that most bands don't.. And true, I do go to see a lot of washed up 30 plus year old bands but I've seen some relatively newer acts too.

One last point... I also went to see a bunch of shows in 2013... I was at all the NMS shows and I think, vocals aside, the 2017 shows are way better... I like THINFS better than WAN so swapping out those songs do help... Phil is much better and more comfortable now... I like that Bobby is gone and Shanks and Bradley are in... In 2013, Jon was just treading water.... This is a rehearsed band and a new band... It's a rebirth and I actually like it... In '13, it was all the same with Richie being swapped out for Phil... Now it's a different band and they are bringing a different magic.

I don't get it either... I really think (conspiracy theory), that Jon has a filter in his mic that works/reflects well with the live acoustics but has the adverse effect when recorded through cheap / low level devices... Or something to that effect...

BTY, It's a losing argument on here but I totally get where you're coming from attending three shows myself back in May...

I've never, not even in 2010, seen a crowd like the one tonight, everyone went crazy and were loud as ****, the energy was amazing and the band felt it! They were on fire Jon jumped to the crowd (IN SOUTH AMERICA) and the whole band used the curfew, Phil even ran there and slayed a solo. At all times their faces were like "I can't ****ing believe it". Jumping in every song, even in Captain Crash. I have no voice and my throat literally hurts like never before.

Now about setlist, they played the same one than in Chile. That was a bummer as they didn't changed a thing... I think that those old long setlist that changed a lot from night to night won't show off here in SA.

About Jon's voice, the guy screamed in Bed of Roses and other song I can't remember. I WAS IN SHOCK. Then, he couldn't sing These Days. The range is there, when he was moving from side to side of the stage and dancing he sang amazingly, and when he stood on the mic was when things got hard. I'm really convinced now that his issues are mainly psychological.

Still, I couldn't believe the energy of the guy. HE WAS POSSESSED.

If he can recover a little bit his voice and add some rarities to the setlist, the European tour 2018 will be INSANE. I wish I could go to another show this tour. I really had a great time.

Also, I took my banner. I showed it up after Bed Of Roses and Jon got near, read it (I was 2/3 people away from the fence) and he said "I just gave you one". I really thought they were going to play it but no luck.
Thanks for the review. It was impossible to find a decent stream and the setlist was the same, sorry for the lack uf updates, going to bed seemed a much better choice

Judging by YT videos the crowd was indeed very loud, I'm glad you had a great time and Jon read your TAALS banner. Maybe he'll reconsider for future shows...

That's what you get when you don't do the shitty numbered seats on the floor-system. This is the way a concert is supposed to look like.
