Y’all are a very convincing bunch so I got over my initial apprehension and watched it while working out. HOLY SHIT. I had a blast.

It is indeed a confidence issue. He can move, dance and jump while singing. It never made sense to me why he wouldn’t be able to do it.
Jon is holding back, overthinking and over-worrying especially in the lesser-known songs. The moment he lets loose, his voice improves, he struggles waaaaay less and he can sell anything to the crowd. Anything. Even fvcking BWC. It has to be an enormous confidence boost to hear thousands of screaming fans singing along to BWC of all fvcking songs. Jon looked so happy to be there and boy, does it make a huge difference.

Vocally this is the best Jon will ever be, though. I really don’t see how he’s going to improve any further, he’s already gotten to a place where he doesn’t sound extremely weak all the time and the shouting is reduced to a minimum. His voice is obviously dragging the songs down. When Jon’s not into the songs due to this self-awareness, they are almost unlistenable, but the moment he does... HOLY FVCK, I even enjoyed WGIGO

It is understandable though, why Jon’s confidence in his voice is such an issue. The reviews will point it out. If you compare Jon to Steven Tyler the headline is clear. But Aerosmith, while they are good live, always leave me pretty cold and this time was no different (and I love Aerosmith and have seen them a couple of times, they never wowed me though). Aerosmith is a bunch of excellent musicians and a singer with a great voice who never stops moving, has rockstar stage moves and good showmanship, but the show still lacks something. BJ is and has always been a kickass BAND live and when Jon is in top form, there’s no audience they can’t win over. KTF was OH SO GOOD. I teared up seeing Jon at the end with Phil and Batshanks. First and foremost because it should be Richie there (I also teared up during Wanted for this reason), but also because it brought so many good memories seeing Jon being Jon. This is why I could never stop being a fan.

For me... the first half an hour or so was abysmal... I guess it took Jon a while to warm up and loosen... From Sleep I had a blast! Bed Of Roses and Lay Your Hands is what its all about... But the band! .. Wow its all so tight and Tico is still the beast!... Was the first time Ive ever gotten Goosebumps from Phil Xs playing (Bed Of Roses) I think hes finally settled in and you can see hes having a blast! Keep The Faith was very enjoyable! Let's hope Jon can still improve and ****ing relax a bit more!

IF this is a case of mental block, I'd make sense that he would struggle with the songs the audience doesn't know.

But Captain Crash is not easy to sing! Yes, it doesn't have high notes. Yes, it's not especially fast. But the charm of the song is singing the quirky lyrics with conviction and playfulness, if it makes any sense. And that's not easy.

Is there a version of the stream where Phil's guitar is higher in the mix?

I got up and played the show while I was getting ready for work - haven't gotten to watch all of the videos yet, but what I've seen is a BAND! Everyone is smiling, the crowd is having a blast and I was impressed with how many in the crowd were right along with lyrics from THINFS.
Anyone know if/what this leg has done for sales? I saw they were the most searched band on ITunes Brazil. THINFS rose and crashed in terms of numbers, can't help but wonder if they are improving the lot. Might be a good time to think about another release - strike while the iron is hot. Europe and OZ next year - oh I wish more US dates.....

Off topic ...

If this is what Axl and Slash have to offer ... It's pretty bad ... I'm bored to death, everyone around me is just standing still looking at the big screen. My friend is a Guns diehard and he agreed that they are very off tonight ...
