Default Setlist from the Hard rock show this afternoon

JOn played an acoustic set with Bobby B. Jeff K. and Lorenza P.. The setlist was:

Help (beatles cover w/ amazing grace violin intro)
love for sale
prayer
bad name
BOR
That's Alright (elvis cover)
IML
KTF
Sat night
IBTFY (yes Jon sang it people said he sounded amazing )
WSYCGH
BTBMB
Wanted
and apparently a small piece of blood on blood in response to a question.

Tonight this same group is playing at Lincoln Center for the charity Childrens Hearing Institute, former Island President Lyor Cohen is being honored and Jon agreed to perform in his honor.

these people weren't from a particular fanclub site were they?

jon hasn't sounded good on IBTFY since 93, possibly 96 at the latest. the song has all but died.

decent set there for a little acoustic gig. maybe help or drift away might be brought back into the thick of things for the new tour?

he probably sounded alright, most people on here are picky about his voice anyways so to most people his voice sounds ok.

The story about blood on blood I;m getting is that someone asked Jon why they didn't play the original version and Jon said "because I can't sing the high part anymore. I wrote that song in my twenties." then he played and sang the first verse and the chorus and then went to the high part, he sang it but his voice cracked and he smiled and said "see what I mean?"

There was another thread about this a while back. Jon sounded great on IBTFY at Giants in 2001.

no, he didn't. there were shows from 2001 where he sounded average (such as giants, pittsburgh etc) but they weren't anywhere near the standard they used to be with regards power and emotion.

I didn't say he sounded as good as he did in 1989. He didn't. He still sounded great though.

He also sounded great at Jersey in 2000.
