Noise pollution of the neighbors. We have this here in Germany, too, but here usually the concerts begin an hour earlier than in the USA. As far as I got to know the shows in the USA start around 9 pm, here in Europe they usually start around 8 pm or 8.30.

The noise pollution is also the reason why they close the roof in the Amsterdam-arena.

They played 2 hours and 15 minutes in Atlanta and stopped right at 11:00. The word Chris is looking for is "curfew." The reason is that some arenas set rules about how long a show can last because THEY have to pay their employees overtime should the show go "too long" and they have to stay longer than expected doing the clean up. It's bad business on the part of the band to go past the curfew, not only because they will be fined, but because it will leave a bad impression with the venue which they may want to play again at a later date.

Yeah, some venues have time curfews meaning that the band cannot go over the time limit. If they do, they have to pay the venue so much for every minute extra they play for...not that it would matter much to a band the size of bon jovi however.

As far as those fines are concerned for venues- they should pay them and play later. A $5,000 fine in a few big cities is not going to hurt this band one bit.

OK- fine. If they don't wanna pay the fines, start the show earlier. It's that simple!

But it would hurt their REPUTATION with venues. If they continually go against venue policies, then it would be harder for them to be booked. There's a lot more involved in putting on a show than the band. So, I think they should start the shows earlier too. I noticed that some of the summer shows are starting at 6:00 whereas the arena shows usually started at 7:30.

The noise pollution is not exactly the reason they close the roof in Amsterdam, Christine. It isn't exactly a residential area where the stadium is. LOL The reason they close the roof is because the acoustics of that stadium is really bad, because of how the stadium is built, the music just gets lost, if they close the roof the music is trapped, so to speak.

Yeah, Giants is starting at 6. Is that because there might be more than one opening act?

Foxboro starts at 6:00 and only Sheryl Crow is the opening act. I hope they'll play longer sets.
