I think he should be wired with explosives and blown up live on stage, like all those Spinal Tap drummers.

I don't care if he's up there on stage as long as he doesn't play any more solos. Truthfully, I barely notice he's there until one of his cringe worthy solos comes along to ruin a song. I know he's a good friend of Jon's and maybe Jon just wants to make sure he's got steady work that pays well so his son's bills are taken care of but PLEASE, rhythm guitar only. (and backing vocals)

Bobby isn't an original member and his playing just adds to the 'wall of guitar' sound that was a problem on HAND.

At the o2 there were FOUR people on guitar during songs that simply didn't require four guitarists. Keep Hugh on Bass and Richie as lead and Jon can do rhythm guitar. Thats enough. You don't need Bobby there too.

WWBTF at o2:
It just doesnt seem to need all that guitar.

Theres also the butchering of solos by Bobby that causes problems:

What Nige said.

His vocals fill things out - he has the higher end that was really missing after Alec left the band. And he is a decent rhythm guitar player. Just break his fingers if he gets near a solo - he just can't handle it.

Like others have said, I like some of the vocals he contributes especially because Richie's vocal abilities have really decreased over the last tour or two. Solos---just no, Jon. Say no.

What's wrong with his son? I've seen several people mention they think Jon keeps him around as charity.

I don't have a problem with Bobby, but I think the solos should stay with the lead guitarist.

Bad example dude! You picked a song where he actually adds something to the sound, is clearly audible and actually adds something useful to the song. There's actually around 6 guitars on the album version on the song, so I don't really see a problem in this, if anything Jon should be playing electric to add more of an oomph to it.....

Ps, where's the fourth guitar?? Or are you counting the bass??

Not sure exactly, but I think it's some kind of neurological disorder he's had since birth that requires full time care, i.e. lots of medical bills.
