Default Show Attendance-Billboard Boxscore

For those that are interested. And just a reminder these figures are ticket sales reported either by the venue or promoter. It does NOT represent butts in seats. Keep in mind that if a scalper buys a ticket that ticket would be counted as sold....even if he doesn't sell it.

And just to show how arbitrary the "capacity" number is (always determined by the promoter). Maroon 5 recently played the Montreal Bell Centre and reported attendance at 15,980 this was sell out according to their promoter Live Nation. You see that AEG, shows Bon Jovi over 17K a night and that is a sell out.

So, don't shoot the messenger, lol!!

I plain refuse to believe the attendance/sales figures these days.
According to Billboard figures, the Circle tour was 100% sell-out at every single venue, including all nights at the O2 in London. There were plenty of empty seats at the O2 along with people being upgraded.....

Figures will be manipulated so that a band doesn't suddenly get hit with a drop in attendance vs capacity that makes them look bad.

Yea, it's an industry thing that "capacity" more time than not these days is just made to match the ticket sales. As shown by my example with Bon Jovi and Maroon 5 at the same venue. And again, if a ticket is shown as sold, it counts in attendance, same for sporting events in the US. It's not actual people there.

Thanks for the link. It's good to see they're doing well.

The Who have around 2-3000 unsold tickets for each of their shows. Time to call it a day, gents.

I don't believe for a minute Bon Jovi have sold every single ticket so far for the tour. The numbers have been well and truly oven baked.

Michael, they do in fact do that. The tour accountant gets that figure before leaving the venue. It's just not the sexy number, lol! Also, revenue is based on the tickets sold number, so the boxscore number approximates that way better than tickets scanned dependent on how many tickets were left sitting on the secondary market (i.e. scalpers stuck with tickets).

This is in no way aimed at the messenger, but portraying 14,306 as a sell-out in Atlanta is laughable.
