that analogy only makes sense if drinkers are walking around forcing booze down other peoples throats

It's also rude to push and push in front of people, throw beer at people, be steaming drunk standing next to people who aren't etc, etc..

But c'mon, that's all pretty much normal occurrences at a concert. It's not a tightly controlled social environment. Maybe you need to go to a nice, seated classical concert instead.

I'm not saying any of these things are right...but they're going to happen.

I think the point anyway was that the stars of the show can get away with it on stage, but we can't.

LOL. Maybe tico's cigars are the exception cause nobody's tried to fine him yet.

Of course that's the case and let them do what they want, however, if somebody smokes near me they'll get a polite request to put it out before I take it from them and put it out myself. If somebody barges past me and doesn't apologise, they'll get a mouthful for that and if they throw beer at me on purpose, they'll be lucky not to get a punch, to be honest.

well, so long as you ask nicely...LOL

Personally, I think cigs shouldn't be allowed when the bands on and you're all packed like sardines. Always been afraid I'd burn somebody anyway.

Still, I firmly believe smoking joints should be allowed at any rock concert. Like someone said earlier, rock'n'roll was invented in an age where that was the norm, and at least then everyone will get something out of the smoke.

I've been saying for ages that booze should be banned from live concerts. The number of people who don't know when to stop is appalling and it impacts negatively on everybody else in their vicinity - much like smoking. Why do people see the need to get wasted in order to have a good time at a gig? Most of the other people there enjoy it a hell of a lot and they're completely sober.

After being stuck in seats for Hampden on the HAND Tour next to a loud-mouthed twat with too much alcohol in him, I have completely lost all patience with people who insist on drinking excessively at concerts.

I don't drink before a gig usually...maybe a couple of pints at most. Otherwise, just need to wee. I might indulge in other things that generally don't turn me into a loud mouth, obnoxious twat though

I agree about the drinking...think it's far worse than smoking. If you're too drunk and bothering others you should be chucked out.

And what's the point of the throwing beer around thing? Isn't that just a waste of a very pricey pint?

Bloody hell, what a can of worms I have started here.

My whole point was that I was told that if you wanted to smoke you had to go outside and you where not allowed back in. So what the hell where smokers supposed to do??? Wait over 6 hours for a fag??

Secondly how come it was ok for Tico and at least 1 member of the stage crew to smoke on the stage. I understand the law of no smoking, albeit a shitty law in places. ie no smoking at the end of a railway platform when its completely empty etc...

All smokes know thats its bad for health and the health others around in a confined space. But on a footy pitch outdoors???With nothing but sky above your head. (Or rain as at Southampton). I'm sure most smokers would put their fag out if someone asked if it was causing a problem.

Oh come on, that's ludicrous! Are you telling me the smoke just goes into all that sky above you an evaporates without a trace? By that argument, you can't smell cigarettes outdoors, which is just rubbish. I don't dispute that they'd put their cigarette out if asked but it shouldn't really get to that point. Smoke all you want but don't subject other people to it.
