Aloha !

Backstagers often request songs that they know Jon loves to play, so they'll get a smile out of Jon for requesting that song (Lie To Me was swapped for I Love This Town in Manchester back in 2008 ), they'll request songs that the band hasn't played in years or they'll request a song no one wants to hear.

As for expectations; it'll be more of the same. The band saying they'll be playing stuff they haven't done in years, followed by a bland North American tour all done on auto pilot and some rare stuff done in the rest of the world.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

LMAO. Um, wrong band! I wish they'd drop Born to Be My Baby. They didn't play it for years so it's not like it HAS to be in the show. Of if they do play it, they ought to do the acoustic version every once in a while. I'd love if if they did a mini-acousic set every night and really changed up the songs that went into that portion of the show.

What has been fascinating me for a while is this:

What is it that makes Jon prefer playing one song rather than another. The answer appears obvious, namely that it all comes down to personal taste. But that particular song (ILTT) is five years old by now and surely he must have taken a step back and realized that it is not his best work in hindsight? I get that he's more proud of certain songs (e.g. Wanted) than others (say Social Disease), but how is it possible he prefers playing ILTT to anything? I mean, it doesn't even resonate well...he must at least have registered that. Puzzling..

In that particular example it's simple. ILTT is pandering to an alarming degree. You mention the name of the city, the crowd will go nuts. You plaster the screen with images/video of their various hometown teams and it's pandemonium. It's a fun song, I like it, but don't need to hear it every time as a "treat".

I hate the bloody song, and it pisses me off every time I have to hear it at a show. I thought sure I'd be spared in Europe last year, but NO. I even had to hear it a few times over there.

No expections here as thats just not me. I'm looking forward to seeing the band at whichever show I go to and in whichever country I go to It is now about being there and has been for some time, so not really too bothered what gets played....

The CEO himself can decide what he wants to play and at the end of the day I have now mastered the art of not listening to shit around me, yes I am great at this haha! Who Says, I Love This Town - bring it, I am ready for these shit songs as much as the next person. I have no hopes to hear anything new nor have I done for quite a while, as everything new I hear I am surprised by whatever it is.

This. I enjoy each and every show for what it is.

Hearing Wild Is The Wind that I'd never heard before was a great treat at Murrayfield last tour, and I guess the only song left on my own bucket list that has a chance of getting played is This Ain't A Love Song.

But like at my second 02 show there was nothing I hadn't heard before but that gig ****ing rocked.

For me it's the whole experience. I only pay what I can afford and if it's at the back or the front, I enjoy it as much either way.

I think the ticket prices are reasonable if you're not dying to have Jon's sweat on you - when you consider it's only something I get a chance to do every couple of years at most. And it's not gonna' last forever - I'm going to keep enjoying it while it does.

No expectations and no apologies.

Definitely in agreement here

People (including myself and you) have been fans long enough to know how and what makes the band tick, I for one have never been a "die hard" but I have cared enough to know whats going on....

This time around I will still follow whats happening but as I said in the previous post, its for the love of music for a band I love and follow.

I have not followed this band around, I am certainly not going to start to either.... I just just hope everyone thats gets to a show old/new fan enjoys it to the max
